Pavoletti could stay at Napoli

Leonardo Pavoletti could stay at Napoli until January, as he doesn’t want to join Deportivo Alaves.

The striker signed from Genoa in January this year, but injury struggles and the form of Dries Mertens meant he didn’t play a single Serie A game for the Partenopei.

According to Il Mattino, Chievo, Udinese and Bologna are all interested in the 28-year-old, but they can’t afford his €800,000 per season wages.

Benevento eye Memushaj and Pavoletti

Serie A new boys Benevento are in negotiations to sign Napoli striker Leonardo Pavoletti and Pescara midfielder Ledian Memushaj.

This will be their first ever top-flight campaign, just a year after starting their maiden Serie B experience.

According to Sky Sport Italia, the Naples side are in talks with Pescara for their Albania international midfielder Memushaj.

The Delfini would be prepared to release him on loan with obligation to buy at the end of the season.

However, Benevento face serious competition from Swiss side FC Sion.

Udinese: 'Pavoletti too expensive'

Udinese warn they are pulling out of their bid for Napoli striker Leonardo Pavoletti. “We like him, but he is far, far too expensive.”

The 28-year-old striker moved from Genoa to the Stadio San Paolo in January for €18m, but barely featured due to injury and poor form.

“Pavoletti is a player we like, but his contract is too rich for our pockets,” director of sport Manuel Gerolin told Sky Sport Italia.

Pavoletti close to Udinese

Napoli striker Leonardo Pavoletti is on the verge of joining Udinese, according to multiple reports.

Gazzetta dello Sport is among the publications that claim Pavoletti has agreed a move to Udinese, adding they beat off competition from Bologna.

He would arrive on an initial, season-long loan, with the view to a permanent transfer next summer.

Pavoletti only joined Napoli from Genoa at the start of the year but played just 10 times without scoring.

Lazio after Remy & Atleti starlet?

Lazio are reportedly considering two more strikers in Chelsea’s Loic Remy and Atletico Madrid starlet Amath Ndiaye.

Although Sky Sport Italia claims Simone Inzaghi would prefer Diego Falcinelli or Leonardo Pavoletti, Corriere dello Sport cites English reports that Remy is on Lazio’s radar.

The Frenchman made just eight appearances for Crystal Palace during a loan spell last season due to a knee injury and has since returned to Chelsea, where he is surplus to requirements.

Karnezis swap for Napoli?

Napoli could exchange second choice goalkeeper Luigi Sepe with Udinese’s Orestis Karnezis as understudy to Pepe Reina.

There are increasing reports that Reina could remain at the Stadio San Paolo, as last night he watched the 7-0 friendly win over Trento in a hotel room with President Aurelio De Laurentiis.

They are still seeking a reliable shot-stopper to complete the squad and Karnezis appears to fit the bill.

According to Il Messaggero Veneto newspaper, Udinese would accept Sepe in a straight swap with the 32-year-old Greece international.

Napoli work on player sales

Napoli are reportedly working to sell players to fund their summer transfer campaign.

After finishing third in Serie A this season, the Partenopei are focusing on keeping the core of their squad together, rather than lavish spending.

Their transfer budget has been reported as being between €20m and €40m, but that wouldn’t include player sales.

For that reason, Radio Kiss Kiss Napoli reports, sporting director Cristiano Giuntoli is working on finding buyers for several players.

Napoli offer €17m for Meret

Napoli have reportedly made a €17m offer for Udinese and Italy Under-19 international goalkeeper Alex Meret.

According to Mediaset Premium, the Partenopei opened the door to including strikers Duvan Zapata (who spent the last two seasons in Udine on loan) and Leonardo Pavoletti in the deal.

Meret spent this term on loan at Spal, helping them to earn a shock promotion from Serie B, topping the table.

He has already been called up by the senior Italy squad for training with Gigi Buffon and Gianluigi Donnarumma.

Udinese talk up Widmer-Pavoletti swap

Udinese President Franco Soldati has opened the door to a swap deal involving Silvan Widmer and Napoli striker Leonardo Pavoletti.

“Widmer’s liked Napoli for two years, his agent has told us that they’d be a welcome destination,” he told Radio Kiss Kiss.

“I don’t know if the Partenopei have so far proposed a concrete offer to Udinese. If it were to arrive, then he could leave Udinese.
