Preziosi: 'No favourites' for derby

Genoa President Enrico Preziosi says "there are no favourites for Saturday's Derby clash with Sampdoria.

The Grifone will be without Coach Ivan Juric after he was sent to the stands during their last match, but the club owner insists his team cannot use that as a reason to underperform in this clash.

"The less said the better," Preziosi told reporters as he left a meeting.

Preziosi: ‘Pavoletti not for sale’

Genoa President Enrico Preziosi warns Leonardo Pavoletti “will not move”, despite links to Napoli.

It had been reported that the Partenopei had an agreement to sign the striker from the Grifone in January, not least because Arkadiusz Milik will miss several months with a knee injury.

“Pavoletti will not move, not this season,” Preziosi told reporters outside a meeting of the Lega Serie A.

Preziosi: ‘Pescara play volleyball!’

Genoa President Enrico Preziosi says Pescara “play volleyball” after Francesco Zampano’s suspension.

The full-back was suspended for two games after video replays showed he handled on the line in the 0-0 draw with the nine-man Grifone this weekend.

“The suspension of Zampano proves I was right,” Preziosi said, referring to his post-game outburst that earned the club a €5,000 fine.

Two game ban for Pandev

Goran Pandev has been given a two-match ban after this red card in Genoa’s draw with Pescara.

The Grifone were already down to 10-men following Edenilson’s two bookings, and the Macedonian international followed shortly after, receiving a straight red for dissent.

The Lega Serie A’s disciplinary report has found that Pandev used “an insulting expression” toward referee Massmiliano Irrati, with an extra game added to his ban for further “disrespectful” language toward the match officials as he left the field of play.

Referee interviews thrown out

AIA President Marcello Nicchi has rejected the idea of post-match interviews for Serie A referees. “We’d only ever speak about errors...”

Preziosi: 'They want Pescara in A'

Genoa President Enrico Preziosi was furious with referee Massimiliano Irrati. “If they want Pescara to stay in Serie A, just say so.”

It was a very controversial 1-1 draw at Marassi this afternoon.

Francesco Zampano cleared a shot off the line with his arm, not spotted by any of the officials.

Genoa then went down to nine men in the space of five minutes, as Edenilson (second booking) and Goran Pandev (dissent) saw red before the Delfini equalised.

Preziosi: ‘Napoli for the Scudetto!’

Enrico Preziosi shrugs off refereeing controversy in Genoa-Napoli, and “hopes” the Partenopei win the Scudetto.

Maurizio Sarri’s side were top of Serie A heading into last night’s match, but were held 0-0 by the Grifone amid complaints about the match officials.

“It was an unusual 0-0 game because it was very interesting,” Genoa President Preziosi said on Radio Kiss Kiss Napoli.

‘Hernanes disappointed to stay at Juve’

Enrico Preziosi claims Hernanes “was disappointed” to stay at Juventus after his proposed move to Genoa collapsed on deadline day last month.

Preziosi discussed Hernanes’ failed transfer a second time on Tuesday as he revealed to Sky Sport Italia that the midfielder was set on joining Genoa, but not before reiterating his gratitude to Leonardo Pavelotti for rejecting the chance to earn more money elsewhere.

‘Genoa could try again for Hernanes’

Genoa President Enrico Preziosi admits “we could try again in January” for Hernanes.

The Grifone were attempting to sign the Juventus midfielder, but the transfer never went through, in part because Axel Witsel’s move to Turin fell-through.

“Up until quarter to 11 on August 31 we hoped to have him here,” Preziosi revealed, speaking to La Repubblica.

“I wanted to add something more, but it went like that. We could try again in January, never say never.

Preziosi: ‘Hernanes if Rincon goes’

President Enrico Preziosi confirms Hernanes will join Genoa if Tomas Rincon leaves for Crystal Palace.

It was reported last night that the Grifone are keen on the Juventus midfielder, with a meeting scheduled for today.

“Hernanes?” Preziosi considered, speaking to Gazzetta dello Sport.

“If Crystal Palace agree to our request of €10m for Rincon, then we have a tentative agreement with Juventus for Hernanes on loan.”
