Report: Genoa sale in the balance

Genoa’s proposed sale to Giulio Gallazzi’s SRI Group has reportedly entered a critical phase.

According to Primocanale, due diligence has been completed and an answer from Gallazzi on whether he will offer the €120m demanded by Genoa President Enrico Preziosi is expected on Wednesday.

However, the broadcaster notes SRI is wary of the Rossoblu’s debts, which amount to ‘over €70m’, while Preziosi is said to have set a deadline of Saturday for the takeover to happen.

Genoa: Milan want Pellegri, but…

Genoa President Enrico Preziosi has revealed that Milan are still interested in Pietro Pellegri but face competition from six other clubs for the starlet.

Pellegri has emerged as one of Serie A’s brightest prospects, the attacker already scoring three goals for Genoa’s first team, despite being just 16 years of age.

“Milan were interested on the last day of the transfer window, and they haven’t given up on him. They’re still on to him,” the patron was quoted as saying by Calciomercato.com.

Genoa takeover talks continue

Talks between Enrico Preziosi and Giulio Gallazzi over the Genoa takeover are said to be continuing today.

The Griffon patron is looking to sell the club to Gallazzi’s SRI Group, but the deal appeared to be in jeopardy last week.

Now Il Secolo XIX is reporting that talks will take place over the next two days behind closed doors, as the two men look to thrash out a deal.

Preziosi acquired Genoa in 2003, and proved a controversial figure as the club was relegated to Serie C1 in 2005 for match fixing against Venezia.

‘Juric staying, Cassano or Rossi…’

Genoa insist Ivan Juric “is absolutely staying” as Coach, even if they keep losing, but rule out signing Antonio Cassano or Giuseppe Rossi.

Two defeats and a draw have left Genoa 16th in Serie A, level on points with the relegation zone, but Enrico Preziosi assured he would not be parting with the Serbian, while vowing to keep his faith in the Rossoblu’s alternatives to the injured Gianluca Lapadula.

“Lazio and Chievo aren’t important matches for Juric’s future,” the President told Gianluca Di Marzio’s website.
