Napoli to bring back Inglese?

Napoli have reportedly agreed to bring back Roberto Inglese from his loan spell at Chievo in January.

According to CalcioNews24, Inglese’s return is ‘closed’ after Arkadiusz Milik’s ACL injury left Napoli light in attack.

The 25-year-old has impressed early on in the campaign with three goals and two assists in Chievo’s first eight games.

His performances also earned him a maiden call-up to the Italy squad for their final two World Cup qualifiers against Macedonia and Albania.

Barella and Inglese called up by Italy

Nicolo Barella and Roberto Inglese are set to replace Marco Verratti and Andrea Belotti in the Italy squad.

Paris Saint-Germain star Verratti was substituted in the 79th minute of his side’s 6-2 thrashing of Bordeaux in Ligue 1 yesterday and has been ruled out of the upcoming international double-header through injury.

Torino’s Belotti, meanwhile, could not finish the Granata’s 2-2 draw with Verona this afternoon after picking up a knee strain.

Gila or Inglese for Milik?

Alberto Gilardino hinted he wants to replace Arkadiusz Milik after the Napoli striker’s latest ACL injury, but Roberto Inglese is more likely.

Milik’s right knee appeared to buckle during last night’s 3-2 victory over SPAL and tests point to at least a partial tear to the anterior cruciate ligament.

It’s very similar to the problem he suffered in his left knee a year ago and surgery is booked for tomorrow morning at the Villa Stuart clinic.

Games of the season: Chievo 3-5 Roma

Roma were given a scare in Week 37 as they closed-in on second place, just about coming out on top at Chievo.

The Giallorossi still had very slim hopes of winning the title, having beaten Juventus at the Olimpico in the previous round of games.

They had Edin Dzeko back from injury and Kevin Strootman returned from a two-match suspension, though Radja Nainggolan missed out with a calf problem.

However, the Flying Donkeys took an early lead when Lucas Castro got in front of Antonio Rudiger and converted Roberto Inglese’s knockdown.
