Sarri: 'If Juve won with me, they must be good!'

Maurizio Sarri explains the feeling of winning his first league title, why he took some time to ‘tweak’ Juventus and what he told the players. ‘If you won with me, you must be really good!’

This was his first major title after the Europa League with Chelsea, and he became the oldest coach ever to win the Scudetto, aged 61 years and six months.

He ran off to the dressing room straight after the final whistle, as he seemingly wanted to smoke a cigarette and avoid getting foamed by his players, but appeared to achieve neither of those aims.

Rebic: 'Can't stand divers!'

Milan star Ante Rebic has taken aim at Juventus’ players, ‘who are big and strong yet stay down for three minutes whenever they’re touched’.

Rebic recently helped Milan come from behind to beat Juve 4-2, and he was particularly disappointed with how Gonzalo Higuain and Federico Bernardeschi applied themselves.

“There are two Rebics,” he told Sportweek.

“In private I’m very quiet, a little withdrawn because I don’t like people talking about me.

Juventus players start to return

Wojciech Szczesny and Cristiano Ronaldo have returned to Turin and must begin their 14-day quarantine, with Danilo and Douglas Costa expected back tomorrow for Juventus.

Szczesny: 'Why I left Arsenal...'

Juventus goalkeeper Wojciech Szczesny admits his Arsenal career ended when someone reported him to Arsene Wenger for smoking in the dressing room.

Szczesny was Arsenal’s No 1 until New Year’s Day in 2015, after he had lined up between the sticks during a 2-0 defeat to Southampton.

The Pole would never play another Premier League match for the Gunners and he concedes it was due to his smoking habit.

“Back at that time I was smoking regularly, and the boss knew it very well,” he told the Arsenal Nation podcast.

Opta's best XI Serie A 2019-20

Six teams are represented in Opta’s best XI in Serie A 2019-20, with Milan left-back Theo Hernandez and Napoli midfielder Fabian Ruiz the only two outside the teams among the top four.

Juventus are the most represented club through their four players in the 4-2-3-1 formation based on Opta’s statistics during the first 26 rounds of Serie A 2019-20.

Cristiano Ronaldo is unsurprisingly on the side after his 21 goals in 22 games this term and Wojciech Szczesny is between the sticks in the top 11 this term.
