Szczesny: 'Didn't make it difficult'

Wojciech Szczesny said Roma “didn’t make it difficult for Barcelona” in a 6-1 defeat, but “it’s all in our hands.”

The Polish goalkeeper managed to parry a Neymar penalty, but Adriano scored on the rebound.

“You have to give them credit. We didn’t make it difficult, but sometimes you have to recognise the quality of the opposition,” the goalkeeper told Mediaset Premium.

De Sanctis: ‘Still happy at Roma’

Morgan De Sanctis insists he’s “fine” at Roma, despite playing second-fiddle to Wojciech Szczesny.

The 38-year-old has made just three Serie A appearances so far this season, but insists he’s not thinking about leaving.

“I’m fine,” De Sanctis told Il Messaggero.

“At the moment I don’t feel like I’m outside of my job, which is a professional footballer. If these conditions continue until June, I won’t even consider stopping.

Szczesny: ‘Arsenal my home’

Roma goalkeeper Wojciech Szczesny says ‘Arsenal is my home’ and that ‘Theo Walcott is faster than Mohamed Salah’.

The Poland international is on loan at the Giallorossi from the Gunners, but refused to rule out a return to London should the Premier League side want him back.

“Since I was 16 I’ve lived in London, Arsenal is my home and I have a contract with them,” he told Polish outlet futbolfejs.pl.

‘Szczesny an uncontrollable lunatic’

Former Juventus goalkeeper Stefano Tacconi says Roma’s Wojciech Szczesny is ‘an uncontrollable lunatic’.

The 58-year-old discussed the Poland international with Gazzetta TV, saying he was ‘mad’ despite there being ‘no doubt’ about his ability.

Szczesny arrived at the Giallorossi from Arsenal over the summer and has conceded eight goals in eight Serie A matches so far.

“He’s a good goalkeeper, there’s no doubt about that,” said Tacconi.
