Lazio winger Mattia Zaccagni is proud to have extended his contract with Lazio and wants to ‘fly higher and higher’ with the Biancocelesti.

Italy international Zaccagni has signed a contract extension with Lazio until June 2029.

Club director Angelo Fabiani had confirmed the agreement with the Italian winger on Wednesday.

The 28-year-old commented on his extension with the Biancocelesti through his official Instagram account on Thursday.

“I’ve been wearing this jersey since August 31, 2021, and will continue doing so for many years,” said Zaccagni.

“With the pride of those who believe that having an eagle as a symbol you can only fly higher and higher. Together.”

Zaccagni had been linked with a move to Juventus, but his contract extension means he will remain at the Stadio Olimpico long-term.

Lazio finalised an agreement with the Italy international after learning that Felipe Anderson would leave the club at the end of his contract in June and return to Brazil to play for Palmeiras.

Zaccagni has spent the last three seasons with Lazio, scoring 20 goals in 112 appearances.

A former winger for Hellas Verona, Zaccagni made his senior Italy debut in March 2022 and has four appearances with the Azzurri. The 28-year-old has made three appearances under new Italy boss Luciano Spalletti.
