Report: Gattuso to give up €11m

Gennaro Gattuso has arrived at Milan’s offices to waive the remainder of his contract – worth almost €11m gross.

MilanNews.it spotted Gattuso checking into Casa Milan with his assistant Gigi Riccio on Tuesday afternoon.

The website explains it is there that he will reach a consensual resolution with the Rossoneri over his contract.

Sky Sport Italia adds the remaining two years on the Coach’s contract amounts to ‘almost €11m gross’.

Gattuso confirms Milan exit

Gennaro Gattuso has announced that he is stepping down as Milan Coach. “It’s a painful choice but a considered one.”

Gattuso’s decision to leave Milan comes after they failed to qualify for the Champions League, while the Coach confirmed reports that he was giving up the remainder of his salary.

“Deciding to leave the Milan bench isn’t easy, but it’s a decision I had to make,” he told La Repubblica.

Gattuso out as Milan downsize

Milan Coach Gennaro Gattuso and director of sport Leonardo will quit today because CEO Ivan Gazidis is downsizing their ambitions, it’s reported.

There was a meeting between Gazidis and Gattuso on Monday evening in which they came to the mutual decision it was best to part ways this summer.

Gattuso-Giampaolo job swap?

Fiorentina and Sampdoria are mentioned as possible destinations once Gennaro Gattuso leaves Milan, possibly in a job swap with Marco Giampaolo.

Sky Sport Italia and others report this evening that Gattuso and CEO Ivan Gazidis decided to part company in a meeting.

It will be a termination by mutual consent, with the Coach giving up 90 per cent of the salary he’d still be owed for a contract to June 2021.

Report: Gattuso and Leonardo leave Milan

Coach Gennaro Gattuso and director Leonardo will announce their departures from Milan on Tuesday, claim Sky Sport Italia.

The decision comes after a meeting between CEO Ivan Gazidis and Gattuso this evening.

According to the reports, they part on friendly terms and will terminate the contract by mutual consent with another two years left to run.

It's suggested Gattuso will give up on 90 per cent of the salary he'd be owed for the rest of his contract.

Gattuso: I'm in pieces!

Milan Coach Gennaro Gattuso admits he has been left ‘in pieces’ by the club’s campaign – and that is something ‘I must consider’.

The Rossoneri missed out on Champions League qualification by finishing fifth in the Serie A table, despite beating SPAL 3-2 on Sunday evening.

“I thank the team. Finishing on 68 points gives me pride, even if it hurts that we didn’t qualify for the Champions League,” Gattuso told DAZN.

Gazidis drops Gattuso hint

Ivan Gazidis has suggested that Gennaro Gattuso’s tenure is almost over as Milan will ‘dedicate the next few days to analysis’.

Milan beat SPAL 3-2 on Sunday’s final round of Serie A but failed to qualify for the Champions League as Inter and Atalanta both won, and Gazidis refused to offer guarantees about Gattuso’s position.

“Despite tonight’s victory, we’re rather disappointed at having failed to qualify for the Champions League,” the CEO said after the game.

Milan contact Allegri?

Milan CEO Ivan Gazidis has reportedly contacted Max Allegri to see if the Juventus Coach would like another go at the San Siro job.

According to Tuttomercatoweb, Gazidis approached Allegri over the last few days to ask about his availability.

It would be a return for Allegri, who was already at the helm from 2010 to January 2014, when he was fired by then-President Silvio Berlusconi.

The most recent Rossoneri Scudetto was earned with Allegri in 2010-11, while he also won the Supercoppa that year.
