Milan surge up form table

Milan and Torino would both be in Serie A’s top four based on the last six games, statistics from FootyStats reveal.

Both sides started the season poorly and dispensed with their Coaches, with the Rossoneri dismissing Vincenzo Montella and appointing Gennaro Gattuso.

Meanwhile, the Granata took the decision to replace Sinisa Mihajlovic with Walter Mazzarri and it appears the decision is paying off for both teams.

Gattuso at Milan until 2020?

Milan are considering a contract extension to keep Gennaro Gattuso as their Coach until June 2020.

According to Tuttomercatoweb, the Rossoneri are so pleased with the progress under their interim tactician that they’re ready to offer a new deal.

Gattuso was the Coach of their Primavera youth team when he was promoted to the main job after Vincenzo Montella’s dismissal in November.

After a stuttering start, Milan have found their form with five wins and three draws between Serie A and the Coppa Italia.

Gattuso: 'Milan must do better'

Gennaro Gattuso tried to calm the comparisons between Patrick Cutrone and Pippo Inzaghi and insists Milan “suffered” in a 4-0 win over SPAL.

Cutrone bagged a brace at the Stadio Mazza, along with Lucas Biglia and Fabio Borini strikes.

“We put in a good performance. The 4-0 result wasn’t unfair as such, but didn’t reflect how much we suffered when only 1-0 up,” the Coach told Sky Sport Italia.

Rino makes Calhanoglu confession

Gennaro Gattuso confesses “I didn’t expect Hakan Calhanoglu to be such a complete player” as he thought the Milan midfielder was ‘slow’.

Calhanoglu has been reinvented as a left winger under Gattuso, the Turk scoring and assisting in Milan’s last five Serie A games, which yielded no defeats.

“Tomorrow there’s SPAL, a team that know what to do,” the Coach said at a Press conference for Saturday’s trip to SPAL.

Kessie is carrying Milan

Gennaro Gattuso’s hard-nosed personality and motivation have brushed off on Franck Kessie, the driving force of Milan, writes Matthew Santangelo.

Fresh off a splendid season in Bergamo for Atalanta, who snuck into fourth place on the final match-day of the 2016-17 season, Franck Kessie was hot property on the market.

At one point last year, the Ivorian was courted by the likes of Manchester United, Chelsea and Liverpool, but in the end Milan’s ambition and substantial offer convinced him to make the San Siro switch.

Gattuso: ‘Compliments make me angry’

Milan Coach Gennaro Gattuso declares “I get angry when hear compliments for us, just look at the table”.

“Before the red card we were masters of the pitch, we did things the way we had to, with great desire and personality.
