Gattuso: 'Milan is Milan'

Gennaro Gattuso confirmed he will take the job of Primavera youth team Coach. “I wouldn’t have done it for anyone but Milan.”

This could be considered a step down for the 39-year-old, who has been first team Coach at FC Sion, Palermo, OFI Crete and Pisa.

“I wouldn’t have done it for any other destination, but Milan is Milan,” Gattuso told La Repubblica online.

In July he will take over as the Coach of the Rossoneri Primavera youth team.

Gattuso returns for Milan job?

Gennaro Gattuso could return to Milan as a Coach, but only for the Primavera youth team, according to SportItalia.

Their pundit Alfredo Pedullà claims that the new club owners have asked ‘Rino’ to join the staff at Milanello.

It remains to be seen whether he would accept running a youth team when he has already worked as a senior Coach since 2013.

Gattuso: 'Get used to foreign ownership'

Gennaro Gattuso says foreign ownership is a reality that fans of Italian clubs have to get used to.

The Milan legend was commenting on the recent takeover of the Rossoneri by Chinese investors, following long-serving President Silvio Berlusconi's decision to sell the San Siro side.

Speaking to Corriere di Bologna, the former Italy midfielder expressed his belief that investment from abroad could be the only way for clubs on the peninsula to start competing in Europe once more.

Gattuso: ‘Thank you, Pisa’

Gennaro Gattuso thanks Pisa after his final game, but laments “for a club to work it has to be united”.

The Torri were relegated from Serie B this season, despite conceding just 36 goals in 42 games.

Last night saw a 3-0 defeat at home to Benevento in the final game, and ultimately even without a four point deduction they wouldn’t have survived.

“I feel great emotion and after 13 years at Milan I never thought I could relieve this feeling,” an emotional Gattuso said after the match.

Unique Mandzukic

Mario Mandzukic brings together contradictory qualities that make him the most tactically valuable Juventus player, writes Andrea Tallarita.

When the up-and-coming football fans ask us what we remember of the Grande Juventus (or whatever moniker will inevitably catch on) 20 years from now, I expect the majority will mention Paulo Dybala or Leonardo Bonucci. I will say that I remember Mario Mandzukic, the Croatian giant who took to the football pitch like a working-class Italian.

The 30-year-old is not a star in any meaningful sense of the term. A solid portion of the spectators watching the Champions League Final on June 3 may ask the person sitting next to them, what's the name of that guy?

Genoa eye Gattuso for next season

Gennaro Gattuso is mentioned as a likely candidate for the Genoa bench next season after his difficult spell with Pisa.

Ivan Juric was hired last summer after helping Crotone to their first ever promotion into Serie A, fired and then recalled, but the Grifone remain just above the relegation zone.

According to La Repubblica, he won’t be in charge next term and the first choice would be Gattuso.

The 39-year-old former Milan midfielder started coaching in February 2013 at Sion FC, where he was a player-manager at the Swiss club.
