Sacchi: Good times for Milan

Former Milan boss Arrigo Sacchi believes the Rossoneri’s return to Europe “is good news” and hopes “more positives are afoot”.

Milan were bought out by a Chinese consortium last month and qualified for next season’s Europa League with a sixth-place finish in Serie A, and Sacchi is confident that the good times are heading back to San Siro.

“Milan returning to Europe? It’s good news, but I hope more positive news is afoot,” he told Gazzetta dello Sport.

Legendary Italian Coach Arrigo Sacchi has hailed Juventus as “a team of heroes” and is backing them to win the Champions League.

Juve won a record, sixth straight Scudetto on Sunday and can become the second Italian club in history to achieve a Treble when they take on Real Madrid in the Champions League Final on June 2.

“Juventus have done remarkably well, but I’m not surprised because they’re strong,” the former Milan boss told Gazzetta dello Sport.

Sacchi: 'Real Madrid defence mediocre'

Arrigo Sacchi believes Juventus will beat Real Madrid in the Champions League Final, above all because of the “mediocre defence.”

The Final will be in Cardiff on June 3 and the Bianconeri already knocked Madrid out in the 2015 semi-finals.

“The Real Madrid defence has no weight to it, no substance, apart from Sergio Ramos,” former Milan Coach Sacchi told Mediaset Premium.

“Danilo is a mediocre player and I don’t know if they will be able to get Dani Carvajal back in time for the Final.

Sacchi: ‘Juventus are a machine’

Arrigo Sacchi praises “extraordinary” Juventus, describing them as “a machine”.

The Bianconeri won 2-0 away to Monaco in the first leg of their Champions League semi-final last night, meaning they have one foot in the Cardiff final.

“They’re doing something extraordinary, they really are a machine,” Sacchi marvelled on Radio 24.

“A machine which completely annihilates the opponent until they’re rendered lifeless, almost nothing. The last thing happened last night with Monaco.

Sacchi: ‘Berlusconi gave Milan life’

Arrigo Sacchi says Adriano Galliani and Silvio Berlusconi “gave life to Milan” and is “pained” by the sale.

The Coach is a Rossoneri legend, and was appointed by Berlusconi directly from Serie B with Parma.

“I’m sorry, I’m pained almost like Berlusconi and Galliani even though I’ve been outside for a long time,” Sacchi told Sky.

“They are two great directors who - in a sporting sense - gave life to Milan. We who won so much owe it equally to the club, who proved themselves day after day.

“I’m not surprised by the result,” Sacchi told Gazzetta dello Sport.

“Quite the opposite, in the first minutes of the game I realised that Barcelona were not the usual Barcelona, or at least the one we’re used to seeing.

The Bianconeri face the Catalan side in Turin tonight, in the first leg of their Champions League Quarter-Final, and the former Milan Coach believes they can progress.

“Juve have a unique opportunity,” Sacchi wrote in Gazzetta dello Sport.

“To defeat a Barcelona which is currently wavering and at the same time strengthen their status and authority on the international stage.

Mazzola: ‘New Italy exciting’

Inter legend Sandro Mazzola believes Italy have an “exciting project”, and hits out at Arrigo Sacchi.

Sacchi criticised Giampiero Ventura’s Azzurri, but the 1968 European Championship winner has leapt to the CT’s defence.

“We’ve started a new and exciting project,” Mazzola told Gazzamercato.

“It’s early to start making proclamations, but I really liked the approach and character these lads showed. Of course there’s a long way to go, but we’re on the right road.
