Sacchi: ‘Napoli masterpiece’

Arrigo Sacchi believes Napoli pipping Juventus to the Scudetto would represent “a masterpiece”.

The Partenopei were winter champions, but Maurizio Sarri’s side currently sit three points behind the Bianconeri at the top of the table.

“Playing style is an abstract element, which is difficult to perceive for those who aren’t attentive,” former Milan Coach Sacchi explained on Radio Kiss Kiss Napoli.

“Without a plot, even if a film has the best actors in the world you won’t have a good movie.

Zoff: ‘Juventus will win Scudetto’

Juventus legend Dino Zoff predicts they’ll win the Scudetto, and hails Gianluigi Buffon.

The Bianconeri are three points clear at the top of Serie A, and can put pressure on second-placed Napoli with a win over Sassuolo tonight.

“Juventus will win a fifth-consecutive Scudetto,” Zoff predicted in an interview with Calciomercato.

“They’ll write themselves into the history books, no-one has done that since 1935 [Inter won five between 2006 and and 2010, but the 05-06 title was awarded after the Calciopoli scandal].

Sacchi: ‘Salah not a team player’

Arrigo Sacchi says Roma winger Mohamed Salah is not “a team player”.

The Egyptian international joined the Giallorossi the summer from Chelsea, after refusing to return to Fiorentina on loan.

He has since scored 11 goals and provided three assists in his 24 Serie A appearances, but was criticised for missing several good chances in the two-legged defeat to Real Madrid in the Champions League.

“Salah is a good player,” Sacchi told FilGoal, an Egyptian website.

‘Conte has too much fear’

Former Italy CT Arrigo Sacchi praises Antonio Conte but warns he has too much “fear” in his approach.

The former Juventus Coach will lead the Azzurri into Euro 2016 this summer, and Sacchi is hoping to see a bold approach.

“Conte is a true phenomenon, all he has to do is divest himself of a certain ‘Italian-ness’,” the tactician told La Presse.

“That means being more coherent, total football has little to do with Italian-ness. I’ve seen Antonio coach, he has clear ideas, talent and inventiveness.

Sacchi: ‘Juventus not convincing’

Former Milan Coach Arrigo Sacchi says the Scudetto isn’t enough for Juventus - “what counts is the Champions League”.

The Bianconeri are aiming for a fifth title in a row this season, and currently sit three points clear of Napoli at the top of Serie A.

However, despite Massimiliano Allegri’s side reaching the Champions League final last season, Sacchi believes they must show more on the European stage.

President Silvio Berlusconi confirms he asked Fabio Capello to come back to Milan last summer.

The patron is celebrating the 30th anniversary of his decision to buy the club and looked back over some of those choices.

“I think these have been marvellous years as well as successful ones,” Berlusconi told TG1 and Mediaset Premium.

“In Arrigo Sacchi I saw the right man to start a new and entertaining style of football. As for Carlo Ancelotti, I think his best quality was good common sense.

Sacchi: 'Higuain was isolated'

Arrigo Sacchi felt Napoli “abandoned Gonzalo Higuain to his own devices” in their 1-0 defeat to Juventus.

Simone Zaza decided the Scudetto showdown with a deflected 88th minute strike, but there were few real scoring opportunities from either side.

“The team that believed in itself the most scored and therefore won,” legendary tactician Sacchi told Mediaset Premium.

“The side with the most experience and the most strength in depth came out on top.

Sacchi: ‘Juve-Napoli balanced’

Arrigo Sacchi says Juventus and Napoli are “two balanced teams” as he analyses the Scudetto race.

The Partenopei are two points clear at the top of Serie A, but the Turin giants are breathing down their necks, having won 13 League games in a row.

The Bianconeri have the best defence in the League, while Maurizio Sarri’s men have the best attack, and Sacchi discussed the difference with Gazzetta dello Sport.

“Does the best defence win the League? In Italy that’s true,” the former Milan Coach acknowledged.
