Sacchi: ‘Mancini very skilled but…’

Arrigo Sacchi explains his Inter comments, saying Coach Roberto Mancini is “very skilled” but their style is not “pleasant”.

The former Italy CT caused a stir yesterday when he described the Nerazzurri’s style as “ancient”, claiming their approach would only be appreciated in Italy.

Sacchi slams Inter style

Arrigo Sacchi says Inter play an “ancient” style of football, which “would not be appreciated” outside Italy.

The Nerazzurri went clear at the top of Serie A this weekend, thrashing Frosinone 4-0, but it was only the second time they had scored more than one goal this season.

Roberto Mancini’s side have only conceded seven goals in 13 games, but the former Milan Coach insists only Italians could appreciate this style of play.

Ancelotti: 'I'd love Roma or Milan'

Carlo Ancelotti would “very much love to be Roma Coach one day” or return to Milan, but won’t take a mid-season job.

The Coach is taking a Sabbatical after the Real Madrid sacking and sat down with the Corriere dello Sport to discuss his past, present and future.

“I would very much love to be Roma Coach one day, as it’s a team I love in a city that I love. I’d also happily return to Milan. They did call me, but I had to undergo a back operation and preferred to rest for a year.

Sarri: 'Rugani best in Italy'

Napoli boss Maurizio Sarri admits his Arrigo Sacchi inspiration and calls Daniele Rugani “the best young player in Italy.”

The Coach sat down with the Corriere dello Sport newspaper and confirmed his intention to sign centre-back Rugani after six months on the Juventus bench.

“Who is the best young player in Italy? In my view Rugani. He has extraordinary capabilities and concentration. I gave him his debut at Empoli when he was 18.

“He will be a very important player for the future of Italian football.”
