Sacchi: ‘Napoli can win the Scudetto’

Arrigo Sacchi “can’t predict the future” but sees Napoli as the most “harmonious” team in Serie A.

The Partenopei are top of the table with seven wins from their opening seven days, and the legendary Coach has been impressed with Maurizio Sarri’s work.

“I can’t predict the future, but they’re definitely the team which gives me most emotions,” Sacchi told GR Parlamento.

Sacchi: 'I told Milan to hire Sarri'

Arrigo Sacchi reveals he advised Milan to hire Napoli Coach Maurizio Sarri and doesn’t understand their summer spending spree.

Sarri, currently top of the table with the Partenopei after winning all seven Serie A games this season, was picked up from Empoli last year.

“I spoke to (then CEO Adriano) Galliani and then with (then President Silvio) Berlusconi, telling them that if they hired Sarri, they would prove after 25 years to be ahead of the curve, just like they were when they hired me,” Sacchi told GR Parlamento radio.

Sacchi: Bayern may need new Coach

Arrigo Sacchi admits Bayern Munich may need to replace Carlo Ancelotti. “I get the impression that the team have lost their enthusiasm…”

Ancelottti has been linked with an exit from Bayern at the end of the season, amidst mounting doubts over their ability to compete for the Champions League and reports that he is losing the Germans’ dressing room.

“I watch all of Bayern’s games, and I get the impression that the team have lost their enthusiasm,” the legendary Coach told Sport1.

Sacchi: ‘Weep for Italy in Europe’

Arrigo Sacchi laments “we just have to weep” after Italian sides picked up just one point between them in the Champions League.

Juventus were thrashed 3-0 by Barcelona at Camp Nou on Tuesday, while Napoli were beaten 2-1 in Ukraine by Shakhtar Donetsk last night.

That means that Roma’s point against Atletico Madrid is the only one picked up by Serie A sides in the first match day of the Champions League.

Sacchi: 'Insigne ideal for Barcelona'

“Lorenzo Insigne would’ve been the perfect replacement for Neymar at Barcelona,” insists Arrigo Sacchi. “He’s the greatest Italian talent in 10 years.”

The Napoli star is expected to start for Italy against Spain in tonight’s World Cup qualifier.

“I don’t think Barcelona are up to the same standard as Real Madrid,” former Milan and Italy boss Sacchi told La Gazzetta dello Sport.

Sacchi: ‘Not enough Italians’

Former Italy CT Arrigo Sacchi assesses the current national side, warning there aren’t enough Italians in Serie A.

The legendary tactician took the Azzurri to the 1994 World Cup final, and spoke about the state of the national team in his interview with Corriere della Sera.

“Something has moved, globalisation helps,” Sacchi said.

“In TV we see more spectacle and so slowly we’re adjusting. To emulate that.

Sacchi: ‘Napoli condemned to perfection’

Arrigo Sacchi believes Juventus will win the Scudetto again, as while he prefers Napoli they’re “condemned to perfection”.

The Bianconeri have won the title for the past six seasons in a row, a Serie A record, but Maurizio Sarri’s side have been tipped to challenge the Old Lady for her crown this season.

“Juventus will win the Scudetto again, because they have the advantage of having a superior character,” Sacchi predicted in an interview with Corriere della Sera.

Sacchi: 'Juve only play 15 mins'

Arrigo Sacchi doubts Juventus can win the Champions League, because “they only play for 15 minutes and then just defend and counter.”

The legendary Milan Coach was, until Zinedine Zidane for Real Madrid, the last tactician to win back-to-back European Cups and European Super Cups.

“Dominant clubs have won the Champions League, from Alfredo Di Stefano’s Real Madrid to Ajax in the 1970s through to Pep Guardiola’s Barcelona,” Sacchi told Mediaset Premium.

Sacchi ‘can’t understand Napoli hype’

Arrigo Sacchi admits he has no idea why Napoli believe they can win Serie A. “It’s not like they bought Maradona or Careca this summer…”

In a surprising and unprovoked attack on Napoli’s title chances, Sacchi claimed the Partenopei did not have the “history” to classify themselves as contenders for the Scudetto or “top players” that the likes of Juventus had in their ranks.
