Zamparini 'still wants to sell'

Palermo President Maurizio Zamparini has once again expressed a desire to sell the club.

The Rosanero take on Torino this evening at 19.45 GMT click here for a preview, in what will mark the club's 1000th match in Serie A.

Zamp dismisses Cascio Palermo bid

Maurizio Zamparini has dismissed Frank Cascio’s offer to buy Palermo as ‘not adequate.’

In August, the American businessman was reported to be moving closer to striking a deal to acquire the Sicilian club for around €50m.

However, Zamparini has been quoted in Monday’s Tuttosport as saying that he ‘doesn’t believe Cascio’s letter of intent to be adequate.’

Zamparini confirms Rajkovic

Palermo President Maurizio Zamparini has confirmed his club are on the verge of officially signing Slobodan Rajkovic.

The Serbian international will move to Sicily from German outfit SV Darmstadt, having spent one season with the Bundesliga club.

“Rajkovic is a new Palermo player,” Zamparini is quoted as saying by Palermo’s official website. The site also contains images of the Rosanero chief together with his new acquisition.

‘Milan, Inter, Chelsea want Vazquez’

Palermo President Maurizio Zamparini says Chelsea, Inter and Milan are interested in Franco Vazquez.

The Italian international formed a deadly partnership with Paulo Dybala last season, and has a goal and four assists in 10 Serie A matches so far this term.

“Vazquez is the best Italian trequartista at the moment,” Zamparini told Radio Kiss Kiss Napoli.

Zamp: ‘Allegri is ruining Dybala!’

Palermo President Maurizio Zamparini accuses Juventus Coach Max Allegri of “ruining” Paulo Dybala.

The Rosanero sold the striker to the Turin giants for a fee worth up to €40m this summer, but the Argentine has had to be content with a bit-part role so far.

With the forward given just 12 minutes to impress in last night’s draw with Borussia Monchengladbach, his former President hit out at the Bianconeri Coach.

“Allegri is ruining Dybala,” Zamparini declared on Radio Sportiva.

'Palermo, time to step down'

President Maurizio Zamparini says it's 'time to stop suffering over Palermo' and adds: 'I am looking for a successor.'

The businessman has been in football since 1987, and has done a considerable job of keeping the Rosanero a force in Serie A by his policy of cultivating and selling young champions.

“Next year I'll be 75, I think it's time to stop suffering over football,” he told Sky Sports Italia.

Zamparini: ‘Scudetto to Napoli’

Palermo President Maurizio Zamparini predicts Napoli will win the Scudetto this year.

The Partenopei had a poor start, but have recently beaten Lazio 5-0, Juventus 2-1 and Milan 4-0, form which the Rosanero patron believes could fire them to the title.

“I think this year the League will be won by Napoli,” Zamparini predicted, speaking to Gr Parlamento.

“Fiorentina are also strong, better than Roma, but I think this is the Azzurri’s year.

President Maurizio Zamparini admits Palermo are 'the worst team in Serie A', but confirms 'faith in Coach Giuseppe Iachini'.

The Rosanero have lost four games in a row now, and conceded four goals against Roma only yesterday.

Zamparini, in an interview with Il Giornale di Sicilia, did not try to colour the situation in his favour.

Zamp: ‘Palermo not in crisis’

Palermo President Maurizio Zamparini insists “we’re in difficulty, we’re not in crisis”.

The Rosanero have taken seven points from their first six games, leading to speculation the famously trigger-happy President could fire Coach Beppe Iachini.

“I’ve spoken with Iachini and the staff,” Zamparini told media at a Press conference.

“We’re in difficulty, but we’re not in crisis. I want us to get nasty. We’ve become a bit soft lately, maybe we let go a bit after the first two wins.
