Petrachi: 'Mancini snubbed Italians'

Torino director Gianluca Petrachi pointed out Roberto Mancini can’t complain about club Coaches using foreign talent. “His Inter had no Italians.”

Mancini makes his competitive debut as Italy Coach this evening against Poland in the UEFA Nations League.

In the build-up to the game, he complained in several interviews that not enough local players are being used in Serie A, with tacticians preferring imported figures.

Petrachi: 'Ref falsified game'

Torino director of sport Gianluca Petrachi claims the defeat to Roma was “falsified by the referee” and Walter Mazzarri wouldn’t speak for fear of punishment.

The Granata were beaten by a late Edin Dzeko volley, but by that stage Coach Mazzarri had already been sent off for dissent due to a Iago Falque penalty appeal.

Falque: 'I deserve Torino respect'

Torino forward Iago Falque blasted the club for putting him on the market. “I deserve more respect. If I leave, it’ll be with my head held high.”

The Granata were beaten 1-0 by a late Edin Dzeko volley this evening, but the tension exploded at the Stadio Olimpico Grande Torino after the final whistle.

“I think they’ve been talking about my exit for a while, yet I’ve proved that I can keep to a consistent level,” Falque told TMW.

‘Toro right to sack Mihajlovic’

Torino sporting director Gianluca Petrachi says that while sacking Sinisa Mihajlovic was a ‘painful’ decision, the club “want to be doing better.”

“It was a painful decision. We hadn’t sacked anyone for a few years,” he told Tuttosport.
