'Milan wanted Belotti in Niang deal'

Torino director Gianluca Petrachi confirms Milan tried to use M’Baye Niang as a bargaining chip for Andrea Belotti, “but the offer was unsuitable.”

The two clubs did eventually do business, Niang joining the Granata on transfer deadline day after weeks of tense negotiations.

“It was a bit of a soap opera,” confessed Petrachi on Torino Channel.

“He always wanted to join us, partly because of the bond he has with Sinisa Mihajlovic, and he even turned down an offer from Sampdoria.

Torino back shorter transfer window

Torino sporting director Gianluca Petrachi joins the calls for a shorter Serie A transfer window.

It was announced today that, from next summer, English clubs will only be able to sell players up to the Thursday before the Premier League starts.

Juventus general manager Giuseppe Marotta opined that a similar system should exist in Italy, while Roma’s Monchi called it “a just and logical decision”.

Torino: Baselli in, Iturbe-Castan out

Torino will keep hold of Daniele Baselli for another year, but send Juan Manuel Iturbe and Leandro Castan back to Roma. “They were unconvincing.”

Director of sport Gianluca Petrachi spoke to ReteSport about some of the players on the transfer market this summer.

“There will be no negotiations with Roma or anyone else for Baselli, as we intend to keep him in Turin for at least another year,” said Petrachi.

“Iturbe and Castan will both return to the Capital, as they were unconvincing.”

Milan meet with Torino

Reports suggest Milan are meeting with Torino’s sporting director, with Andrea Belotti potentially on the agenda.

The Rossoneri have been repeatedly linked with the Italian international, but they completed the signing of André Silva on Monday.

Despite that, MilanNews reports that they are meeting with Gianluca Petrachi today, though the asking price for Belotti is still high.

‘Milan, pay up for Belotti’

Torino sporting director Gianluca Petrachi says Milan haven’t bid for Andrea Belotti - “if they want him they’ll have to pay up”.

The Italian international scored 26 Serie A goals this season, and it was reported last night that the Rossoneri had scheduled a meeting to discuss a move for him.

Belotti has a €100m release clause, but it’s only valid for clubs outside of Italy and the Granata are in no mood to give discounts to the Diavolo.

Milan meet Torino for Belotti?

Torino director Gianluca Petrachi is currently meeting with Milan, reportedly to discuss striker Andrea Belotti.

Il Gallo has never disguised the fact he supports the Rossoneri and has done since childhood, wanting to follow in the footsteps of his hero, Andriy Shevchenko.

Milan supporters hope this can help sway him towards San Siro, although the €100m release clause in his contract is valid only for clubs outside of Italy.

‘Immobile had Torino doubts’

Torino sporting director Gianluca Petrachi confirms they wanted to pair Ciro Immobile and Andrea Belotti.

The two strikers are on opposite sides in this evening’s Lazio-Torino game, as the former opted not to return to the Granata permanently after ill-fated spells with Borussia Dortmund and Sevilla.

“Torino have been growing in recent years and we’ve raised the bar,” Petrachi told Premium Sport.
