Rick Karsdorp was “shocked” by the approach to training at Roma. “Leaving was like taking a weight off my shoulders.”

The Dutch full-back has now returned to Feyenoord after a dismal spell in the Giallorossi jersey.

“You’re left alone there for so much of it,” Karsdorp told Voetbal International.

The Albanian is free to leave the San Paolo for the right price this summer, with the signing of Giovanni Di Lorenzo pushing him out.

Schira explains Napoli are prepared to sell him for €20m but that the Giallorossi must give up Karsdorp to finance a deal.

Probe for De Vrij fraudster

The fraudster who stole the final €2m that Lazio owed Feyenoord for defender Stefan de Vrij is under investigation.

Lazio were victims of the scam last year, falling for an e-mail that included Feyenoord’s badge and written as if they had sent it.

The Aquile had made the transfer using the bank account details supplied, only to later discover the Dutch club did not receive the funds.

Feyenoord dream of Dr Vrij & Karsdorp

Feyenoord say their doors are open to Stefan de Vrij and Rick Karsdorp returning one day. “These lads have special places in our hearts.”

The pair started their careers at Feyenoord, but while De Vrij is firmly established in Inter’s defence, Karsdorp was reportedly close to re-joining the Dutch side from Roma in January.

“Our doors are always open to players who have played for our club and want to return,” sporting director Martin van Geel told Corriere dello Sport.

Feyenoord return for Karsdorp

Roma are in negotiations to send Rick Karsdorp back to Feyenoord, but it remains to be seen whether there’s an option to buy.

According to La Gazzetta dello Sport, a return to the Netherlands is practically guaranteed in the January window.

They are still discussing the formula of the deal, as Roma want it to be a straight six-month loan so he can regain fitness and confidence after numerous injury problems.

Feyenoord would prefer there to be an option to buy at the end of the season.

Feyenoord ask for Karsdorp

Feyenoord pocketed €14m for Rick Karsdorp in 2017, but are now asking to take the Roma defender back on loan.

It’s safe to say Karsdorp has been a flop for the Giallorossi since becoming one of Monchi’s first buys.

Due to various injuries and poor form, he has made a grand total of four appearances in a Roma jersey, playing a total 201 minutes of football.

He is still only 23 years old and remains a Netherlands international, so can be offloaded in January.

Karsdorp to return to Feyenoord?

Roma defender Rick Karsdorp could reportedly be loaned back to Feyenoord in January.

The full-back joined the Giallorossi in the summer of 2017, but he made only one appearance last season after a series of knee issues.

This season he has been criticised by Coach Eusebio Di Francesco, and appears to be behind Alessandro Florenzi and Davide Santon for the right-back slot.

Now Gazzetta dello Sport is reporting that he could be loaned back to his former club in January.

Lazio owe Feyenoord €1m

The Court of Arbitration for Sport has ruled that Lazio must pay Feyenoord over €1m for Stefan de Vrij, after being scammed out of the final €2m instalment.

The Biancocelesti signed the defender in the summer of 2014, but were sent a fake email demanding the final €2m instalment, and they sent the money to the wrong bank account.

It was only later that they discovered the Eredivisie side hadn’t received the funds, and the case was referred to CAS.
