Report: Roma offered Perin

Roma have been offered the chance to sign Juventus goalkeeper Mattia Perin, according to La Repubblica.

Perin could fit the bill for Roma as Robin Olsen is set to make way and deputy Antonio Mirante has ended the season as their No 1.

The former Genoa shot-stopper only joined Juve last summer but has made just nine appearances for the Bianconeri.

Consequently, the 26-year-old would be considering his future in Turin, although his preference is to stay in Italy.

Perin out of Ajax clash

Mattia Perin is out of the Juventus squad to face Ajax, while Giorgio Chiellini and Emre Can are progressing well.

The first leg of the Champions League quarter-final ended 1-1 and the decider is in Turin on Tuesday evening.

Goalkeeper Perin suffered a right shoulder injury in this morning’s training session and has been ruled out of that game.

Chiellini and Emre Can missed the first leg due to injuries, but are both said to be progressing well and there is the sense that they could at least be in the squad.

Perin injured by bottle?

Mattia Perin reportedly injured his ankle on international duty after a curious incident with a water bottle.

The Juventus goalkeeper was ruled out of the Italy squad for the 2-0 victory over Finland and remains in doubt to face Liechtenstein on Tuesday.

According to Sportmediaset, Perin sprained his ankle because he accidentally trod on a water bottle that had been left on the training ground.

It was not a serious incident, and he could well be on the bench for Tuesday’s second Euro 2020 qualifier in Parma.

Juventus eye up De Gea?

Juventus are linked with David De Gea, but it’s unlikely they’ll pay the £75m asking price when Manchester United can lose him for free in 2020.

The goalkeeper has repeatedly been associated with a move elsewhere, above all to Real Madrid, but their purchase of Thibaut Courtois seems to have scuppered that idea.

According to The Sun, “sources close to both” Juventus and Manchester United claim the Bianconeri are the favourites for De Gea.
