‘Maradona doesn’t leave us, he is eternal', Leo Messi wrote on Instagram to pay tribute to the Napoli legend who died aged 60.

“A very sad day for all Argentines and for football. He leaves us but does not leave, because Diego is eternal,” Messi wrote on Instagram posting two pictures together with Maradona.

“I stay with all the nice moments lived with him and I wanted to take the opportunity to send my condolences to all his family and friends. Rest in peace.”

Crespo: 'I choose Messi over Cristiano’

Hernan Crespo says he prefers Leo Messi over Cristiano Ronaldo and is convinced Paulo Dybala’s time at Juventus will come.

Messi and Barcelona deadlocked

Lionel Messi is in for a legal battle with Barcelona, as his father met with President Josep Maria Bartomeu today and both sides are refusing to negotiate.

The Ballon d’Or winner has been linked with Inter, Juventus, PSG and above all Manchester City.

Messi believes he is now an ex-Barcelona player, as there is a clause in his contract allowing him to leave for free one year before it expires.

The club insists not only is that not true, but also that there is a €700m release clause which is still valid, a position backed by La Liga.

Man City's Koulibaly bid still not enough

According to Spanish newspaper AS, Manchester City have offered €70m for Kalidou Koulibaly, but Napoli are still holding out for more.

It has been suggested in multiple Italian outlets for weeks that Manchester City are the favourites and Koulibaly is on the market for the right price, having rejected over €100m in recent years.

President Aurelio De Laurentiis wants at least €80m cash for the Senegal international centre-back.

AS claim that the latest offer from City is €70m, an increase from the €65m proposed last month.

Report: Koulibaly wanted Napoli extension

Kalidou Koulibaly wanted to sign a new contract with Napoli, according to transfer expert Alfredo Pedullà, but the club wants a sale to Manchester City.

The defender has long been the most valuable players in the Partenopei squad and previous offers of over €100m were rejected from the likes of Manchester United and PSG.

His contract runs to June 2023 and there is no release clause.
