Belotti bags five for Torino

Andrea Belotti scored five in Torino’s first pre-season friendly, a 14-0 victory. “Belotti is fired up mentally and physically,” said Coach Walter Mazzarri.

The Granata made their first appearance of the summer against local amateur side Bormiese and Il Gallo was the star of the show with five goals.

Iago Falque also found the net twice, along with two assists, while Afriyie Acquah and Karlo Butic had two apiece.

Sasa Lukic, Alex Berenguer and Erick Ferigra rounded out the scoreline in a 3-5-2 formation.

Cairo: ‘Belotti and Sirigu staying’

Torino President Urbano Cairo confirms Salvatore Sirigu and Andrea Belotti are “happy to stay” with the club.

Sirigu was linked with a move to Napoli this summer, but they’ve signed Orestis Karnezis and Alex Meret to cover their goalkeeping situation.

“We wanted to keep all the big players and we’re doing it without talking about it,” Cairo told Gazzetta dello Sport.

“Sirigu, for example, was the subject of interest from big teams but we wanted to keep him. He was happy to stay, as was Belotti.

Mancini revamps Italy with Holland

Roberto Mancini named his starting XI for Italy’s friendly with the Netherlands and explained his paternal rapport with Mario Balotelli.

The match kicks off in Turin on Monday at 19.45 UK time (18.45 GMT).

It follows on from the Azzurri’s 2-1 win over Saudi Arabia and Friday’s 3-1 defeat to a star-studded France.

“The game against France was very important for us and this too will help us learn for the future,” said the Coach in his Press conference.

Mancini: 'Balo-Belotti an option'

Italy Coach Roberto Mancini takes on France tonight and said they could try using Mario Balotelli and Andrea Belotti together.

The friendly kicks off in Nice tonight at 20.00 UK time (19.00 GMT).

It follows on from Monday’s 2-1 victory over Saudi Arabia, which saw both Balotelli and his replacement Belotti on target.

“Playing Balotelli and Belotti together is an option we could work on, as I do like to play with two centre-forwards. We can certainly evaluate that as an alternative,” Mancini told Rai Sport.

Belotti: 'Positive Italy performance'

Milan meet for Morata

It’s reported Milan met with a representative for Chelsea striker Alvaro Morata today, as they consider a summer bid.

The Rossoneri have made it clear they want an upgrade on Nikola Kalinic for next season, and have been heavily linked with Andrea Belotti and Ciro Immobile.

Now though Sky Italia is reporting that CEO Marco Fassone and sporting director Massimiliano Mirabelli met with Beppe Bozzo at Casa Milan today.

Bozzo is an intermediary for Morata, and previously negotiated with the Diavolo when they enquired about the striker last summer.

Belotti has sprained ankle

Andrea Belotti is expected to miss the Torino trip to Genoa on Sunday, as he sprained his ankle in training.

It kicks off on Sunday at 14.00 UK time (13.00 GMT), click here for a match preview.

Il Gallo sprained his ankle during yesterday’s training session and underwent treatment today.

He is unlikely to be risked for the final match of the Serie A season.

Lyanco is also out of the match, but Joel Obi and M’Baye Niang should return.

Torino target Locatelli and Cutrone

Torino are interested in signing Manuel Locatelli and Patrick Cutrone from Milan in a possible exchange deal with Andrea Belotti, claim Tuttosport.

According to the Turin-based newspaper, the Granata have set their sights on the pair of Rossoneri youth team products.

Of the two, Locatelli would be more likely to leave San Siro, as he is behind Lucas Biglia and Riccardo Montolivo in the pecking order.

Milan sporting director Massimiliano Mirabelli says it’s “exaggerated” to talk about Gigio Donnarumma leaving - “clubs will make their offers and we’ll see if they satisfy us”.

Belotti ‘happy’ at Torino

Andrea Belotti has dropped his biggest hint yet that he will stay at Torino this summer. “I’m happy, we’ll work to make up for no European football.”
