Petagna-Belotti swap deal?

Napoli could, according to Tuttosport, be prepared to use Andrea Petagna as bait to convince Torino about parting with Andrea Belotti.

The newspaper claims Napoli are stepping up their interest in Belotti, who attracted a lot of attention when he scored 26 goals in Serie A 2016-17, and suggested that the Partenopei will not have room for both him and Petagna in their squad.

The 26-year-old has steadily remained on double digits in the top tier and has scored nine league goals during a difficult season for the Granata.

Napoli and Roma eye Belotti

Andrea Belotti is reportedly ready to leave Torino next season, with Napoli and Roma among the clubs considering an offer.

According to Calciomercato.com, Il Gallo has decided the time has come to move on after five years.

There is a €100m release clause in his contract, but it is valid only for clubs outside of Italy.

Milan had been linked with Belotti in the past, but it’s more likely now that Napoli or Roma would go for the 26-year-old.

Napoli to offer Petagna for Belotti?

Napoli could insert Andrea Petagna into a deal for Torino’s Andrea Belotti this summer, according to La Gazzetta dello sport.

SPAL striker Petagna signed for the Partenopei in January, but was left at the Ferrara-based club to try and save the struggling outfit from relegation.

La Gazzetta dello sport claims that the 24-year-old may never get the chance to play for the southern side.

This is because the Milan daily suggests that Petagna may be inserted into a potential deal for Andrea Belotti.

Napoli in for Belotti?

Napoli are reportedly in touch with Torino regarding a possible move for Italy international Andrea Belotti.

The Partenopei are planning for the next transfer market this summer and Tuttomercatoweb has reported that they have targeted Gallo as their next front man.

Napoli have already signed Andrea Petagna from SPAL but are allegedly looking at the possibilities of bringing Belotti to the club as Dries Mertens could still be on his way out.

Longo: 'Torino lack mentality'

Moreno Longo admits Torino made too many mistakes against Napoli and a sixth loss on the bounce shows “we are lacking courage and the right mentality.”

The Granata suffered six consecutive Serie A defeats, a club record previously set in 1999-00 (the year of their relegation) and 2006-07.

Walter Mazzarri was in charge for half of those, but Longo becomes the first Torino coach to lose his opening three games since Lido Vieri in 1995-96.

Guarantees to keep Belotti at Torino

President Urbano Cairo has denied reports about Andrea Belotti going to Napoli after the season and has guaranteed the Italy international will stay at Torino.

The Granata are struggling in the bottom half of the table this campaign and Belotti has been looking bleak in front of goal in recent weeks.

His brace against Roma in the first game after the winter break has been his only two goals in 2020, but it doesn’t stop the rumours linking him with a move to one of the bigger clubs in Italy.

Mazzarri has lost Torino

After two years of his tenure, Walter Mazzarri has taken Torino as far as he can, argues Tommaso Adami.

On Tuesday night, Torino were only four minutes away from punching their ticket to the Coppa Italia semi-finals. However, in the first minute of stoppage time, Hakan Calhanoglu's deflected shot tied the game for Milan, who ended up winning 4-2 in extra time. Unfortunate, to say the least, because getting away with a win at San Siro would have meant the world for Walter Mazzarri and the struggling Granata.

Belotti: 'Unjustifiable 7-0 defeat'

Andrea Belotti admits Torino’s 7-0 defeat to Atalanta was “unjustifiable” and they have to make up for it against Milan in the Coppa Italia.

The quarter-final kicks off on Tuesday at 19.45 GMT.

There has never been so much pressure on the Granata to deliver and coach Walter Mazzarri is reported to be hanging by a thread after the historic humiliation on home turf.

“A defeat like that is unjustifiable,” captain Belotti told La Stampa newspaper.

Keeping up with Immobile

Records have tumbled so far this season and Ciro Immobile is proving himself to be an excellent all-round striker for Lazio and Italy, writes Vijay Rahaman.

It's stoppage time at the Stadio Mario Rigamonti and promoted Brescia are holding Serie A’s form team Lazio to a 1-1 draw and it seemed that the Biancocelesti's current streak is about to end. Then a long raking ball from Francesco Acerbi into the box is headed down by Sergej Milinkovic-Savic, collected by Felipe Caicedo, who places the ball perfectly into the path of Ciro Immobile, and while falling to the ground he strokes the ball into the left hand corner of the goal.

Mazzarri: 'Belotti a warrior'

Walter Mazzarri praised “warrior” Andrea Belotti for leading the way in a 2-0 victory away to Roma, but warned Torino “must always have this determination.”

The Granata were in desperate need of a boost after their shock home defeat to SPAL and certainly got it, as they hadn’t won away to Roma in Serie A since 2007.

Belotti was the star with a brace, but Salvatore Sirigu was also decisive after a series of saves.
