Endless parade of Milan managers

Since Max Allegri was fired in January 2014, Milan have had eight different tacticians on their bench and Stefano Pioli will make it nine.

The Rossoneri have seen a constant turnaround of Coaches, not helped by the fact that during that same period, the club has been under three different owners and a multitude of directors.

Following Allegri’s dismissal in January 2014, Milan had assistant manager Mauro Tassotti take charge of one game before Clarence Seedorf saw out the season.

The 42-year-old began his playing career with the Rossoneri, making over 100 appearances for the club, and represented Italy once.

He debuted in management with their Primavera team in 2014, before replacing Sinisa Mihajlovic for the last seven matches of the 2015-16 campaign.

Vincenzo Montella was given the axe this morning with a surprise statement, as the 0-0 draw with Torino proved the final straw.

Gattuso has been promoted from the role of Primavera youth team Coach to the main role, though it’s unclear whether he will remain to the end of the season or merely take a caretaker position.

This is the sixth change of tactician at San Siro since Allegri was dismissed on January 25, 2014.
