Zamparini: 'Last year at Palermo'

President Maurizio Zamparini announced “this will be my last year at Palermo, but I won’t leave it to losers.”

The patron has said this before, but told La Repubblica newspaper he has given up on many of the projects by now.

“I honestly believe this will be my last year at Palermo. Over the last few days I’ve been in London and hired a company to find investors interested in buying the club.

“I don’t want to be repaid for what I spent, but I am not leaving Palermo in the hands of a bunch of losers.

Zamp: ‘Vazquez can go next season’

President Maurizio Zamparini admits Palermo will have to sell Franco Vazquez - but not until next season.

The Italian international was one of the Rosanero’s star performers last season, striking up a formidable understanding with Paulo Dybala.

The Argentine has moved on, joining Juventus for €40m, and despite speculation Vazquez could follow, Zamparini insists he will spend one more season in Sicily.

Palermo President Maurizio Zamparini admits a deal for Arsenal’s Joel Campbell is now ‘impossible’.

The Rosanero patron is in London, and had been trying to negotiate a transfer for the Costa Rican, but the arrival of Uros Djurdjevic has scuppered any deal.

“I’m in London now, I tried to close it [the deal] last week,” Zamparini explained in an interview with Radio Sportiva.

'Campbell unattainable for Palermo'

Palermo President Maurizio Zamparini admits Joel Campbell is 'unattainable' unless Arsenal become more flexible.

The Rosanero had reportedly given up on the 23-year-old last week, but there have been mixed reports in the Press since.

The Daily Express ran the line that Campbell was on the verge of moving to the Sicilian side for the agreed price of €10m, but Zamparini contradicted that in an interview with Il Giornale di Sicilia.

Matheus Cassini says it's 'early' to discuss Palermo's objectives, but he has 'a strong desire to be an important part of this team'.

Zamparini: 'I hinted Mihajlovic to Milan'

Palermo President Maurizio Zamparini reveals bringing Sinisa Mihajlovic to Milan was his idea: 'He's got guts, he's the best around'.

The Rossoneri are counting on the Serbian Coach to lift them from their years of crisis, but according to the Rosanero patron, the intuition didn't come from President Silvio Berlusconi.

“I'm on excellent terms with Berlusconi,” he said, in an interview with Il Corriere della Sera.

“I can compare Defrel to a beautiful woman, as everyone wanted to take her out to dinner, but few prepared to pay for a classy restaurant,” Cesena President Giorgio Lugaresi told Calciomercato.it.
