Diawara aims to turn things around against Sassuolo

Amadou Diawara said Roma have an ‘opportunity’ against Sassuolo, aiming to bounce back from the 2-0 defeat to Napoli. ‘The last game was not good’.

The Giallorossi have to turn things around in the battle for top four after back-to-back 2-0 defeats in Serie A to Parma and the Partenopei.

Diawara said La Lupa are prepared to ‘redeem ourselves’ against the Neroverdi today.

Roma Diawara appeal rejected again

Roma’s final appeal against their 3-0 defeat by default against Verona has been rejected by the CONI Collegio di Garanzia.

The Giallorossi lodged an appeal after they were handed a 3-0 defeat by default in Serie A MD1 away at Verona.

The match ended 0-0 but the Capitolines irregularly fielded Amadou Diawara.

The midfielder had turned 23 in July, so he was no longer eligible for the Under-22 list he had been on last season.

Fonseca saw 'good Roma attitude'

Paulo Fonseca saw ‘a great attitude and team spirit’ after Roma won 2-1 away to Fiorentina, reacting to recent setbacks.

Leonardo Spinazzola curiously both opened the scoring for the Giallorossi and accidentally got the equaliser with an own goal.

“It was a difficult match, we won largely due to the excellent second half performance,” Fonseca told Sky Sport Italia.

Roma want six players out in January

According to a report of Il Corriere dello Sport, Roma will try to sell six players in January, including Carles Perez and Federico Fazio.

The Giallorossi sit third in the Serie A table after the opening 14 games of the campaign.

Fienga: 'Roma appeal rejection unjust'
