Milan wanted Diawara on loan

Napoli have rejected a Milan attempt to sign midfielder Amadou Diawara on loan, according to Sky Sport Italia.

As the Rossoneri are putting all their January transfer funds into Lucas Paquetá – already signed from Flamengo for €35m – and Genoa striker Krzysztof Piatek for a similar fee, they’ll try to keep midfield reinforcements at zero cost.

Transfer guru Gianluca Di Marzio claims Milan asked Napoli to loan them Diawara for six months, perhaps with an option to buy at the end of the season.

West Ham change minds on Obiang?

West Ham United have reportedly changed their minds after initially giving the all-clear for Fiorentina to buy Pedro Obiang at €10m.

Multiple Italian sources last night stated it was a done deal worth €10m plus performance-related bonuses.

However, this morning Sportitalia claim West Ham patron David Sullivan changed his mind and decided to resist the offer.

Obiang was all set to sign a four-and-a-half-year contract with the Viola.

Wolves, Fiorentina want Diawara

Wolverhampton Wanderers and Fiorentina are believed to be interested in Amadou Diawara, who Napoli would sell for around €35m.

The midfielder has started only six games under Carlo Ancelotti, and didn’t make a single appearance in the Champions League.

According to today’s Corriere del Mezzogiorno, both Wolves and Fiorentina are interested in signing the 21-year-old.

The Partenopei could even be willing to sell outright if an offer of €30-35m arrived, but that would be outside of the Viola’s price range.

Milan could loan Diawara

Milan are looking to loan Amadou Diawara from Napoli to replace Lucas Biglia, according to reports, but it needs the OK from Carlo Ancelotti.

The Rossoneri have lost Biglia and Giacomo Bonaventura to long-term injuries, while Riccardo Montolivo is out in the cold.

While technical director Leonardo would like to address that in January, the club is still awaiting a judgement from UEFA on Financial Fair Play.

According to Tuttosport, the solution could be to loan Diawara from Napoli for six months.

Report: Wolves want Diawara

Wolverhampton Wanderers reportedly want Amadou Diawara, but Napoli value the midfielder at no less than €45m.

According to CalcioNapoli24, Wolves enquired about Diawara’s availability on Tuesday, given the midfielder’s lack of game time for Napoli.

However, the website warns that while the Partenopei may be tempted into a sale, they ‘would like to keep him’ and rate him in the ’€45-50m’ region.

The 21-year-old holds Italian citizenship but recently made his official debut for Guinea.
