Wolves enter Olmo race

Premier League side Wolves have also joined the race to sign Milan target Dani Olmo, according to a Croatian report.

The Dinamo Zagreb midfielder has been linked with a move to Milan for several weeks, with Rossoneri director Zvonimir Boban trying to use his contacts with the team he started his career with to secure a deal.

However the Croatian outfit are demanding €25m for the Spanish midiflder’s services, a figure deemed too high by Milan.

Football Italia Chief Correspondent Richard Hall looks at how Stefano Pioli has reinvigorated Milan by doing the simple things well.

Gheorghe Hagi once stated that the way to win was not all about having talent. He claimed that being organised and possessing the will to succeed was just as important as quality. Having a little bit of stardust on top of that obviously helps, but the basics done correctly are essential. Milan have been through a tumultuous time in recent years and tried many innovative ideas to get them out of it. Stefano Pioli has now come in to ‘steady the ship’ and after a stormy start, he perhaps can claim success by going back to the simplest of strategies.

Dinamo confirm Olmo-Milan talks

Dinamo Zagreb coach Nenad Bjelica confirmed Milan target Dani Olmo “won’t be risked, because we all know a transfer is being discussed.”

The 21-year-old Spain international was left out of the squad for a friendly and their tactician did not even try to disguise the reason.

“Olmo won’t play tomorrow. We all know a transfer is being discussed, although we don’t yet know where or when it’ll happen,” Bjelica said in a press conference.

Inzaghi: 'Patience needed at Milan'

Filippo Inzaghi has claimed the situation at Milan “is nothing new” and revealed they will need “continuity” and “patience” along with “the right players”.

The former Rossoneri hero has supported directors Paolo Maldini and Zvonimir Boban to help get the club back among the top teams in Italy but revealed they will “have to reset” and get “two or three” quality players every year.

'Milan mustn't hide behind Ibra'

Zvonimir Boban has hailed the return of Zlatan Ibrahimovic but warned Milan’s players that they cannot “hide behind his very broad shoulders”.

Milan have turned back to Ibrahimovic in a bid to revitalise their season, yet it comes just weeks after they were thrashed 5-0 by Atalanta, leaving them some 14 points off a Champions League place in Serie A.

“We’re very proud to embrace a unique character and player,” Boban said at a Press conference.

Ibrahimovic lands for Milan medical

Zlatan Ibrahimovic was greeted by fans and Zvonimir Boban at the airport, as he arrives to undergo his Milan medical and return to the club after nine years.

The 38-year-old landed at Linate Airport in Milan this morning on a private jet from Stockholm.

Fans gathered at the gates, but Ibra was picked up directly on the tarmac by director Boban and the Milan TV crew.

Ibra stepped off the plane dressed in a black hoodie, black jeans and boots, waving to the supporters behind the security fence.
