Quagliarella: 'Why I left Napoli'

Torino striker Fabio Quagliarella claims he left Napoli because of false links to the Camorra mafia.

The forward left the Partenopei to join Juventus in 2010, and testified today in a trial over alleged stalking by police officer Raffaele Piccolo.

It’s alleged that Piccolo sent defamatory and threatening letters to Quagliarella, his father and the clubs who employed him between 2007 and 2010.

Quagliarella to Fiorentina?

Fiorentina could sign Torino outcast Fabio Quagliarella and loan Ante Rebic to bottom of the table Verona.

Toro fans told Quagliarella he was no longer welcome at the club after his refusal to celebrate against hometown club Napoli, even making a hands together gesture over his head that was read as an apology.

The striker reportedly met with ultras yesterday to explain his position, but the response was cold and he is now on the market.

A fable for Fabio

Fabio Quagliarella is under-fire for apparently apologising for scoring against Napoli. Giancarlo Rinaldi says the Torino striker should brush up on his fables.

Fabio Quagliarella might be well advised to go back and read his Aesop's fables. The tale of the Man, the Boy and the Donkey - in particular - could strike a chord with him at this moment in time. The essence of its message is that by trying to please everyone, you end up pleasing nobody. And the Toro striker certainly seems to have precious few friends at the moment.

Clubs line up for Quagliarella

Fabio Quagliarella’s fallout with Torino fans could see him depart for Udinese, Inter or Fiorentina according to reports.

The Granata striker was criticised by Toro supporters after refusing to celebrate his goal against hometown club Napoli last week.

Tuttomercatoweb write that the striker is expected to leave Turin in January after the disagreements and with Ciro Immobile expected to arrive at the Stadio Olimpico.

Udinese are believed to be frontrunners for the former Italy international, but Fiorentina are also interested.

Ventura: 'Toro fans forgive Quaglia'

Giampiero Ventura urged Torino fans to stop their protests against the club and Fabio Quagliarella after a third straight defeat.

The Granata have plummeted down the Serie A standings and visibly lost confidence since a 4-0 Coppa Italia defeat to rivals Juventus.

“Empoli are in good shape who have won four of their last five games,” said the Coach after a 1-0 home defeat.

Quagliarella: 'I wasn't apologising'

Torino striker Fabio Quagliarella insists he was “not apologising” to Napoli fans for his goal. “I wanted an end to hostility.”

The forward converted a penalty to temporarily equalise at the Stadio San Paolo in last night’s 2-1 defeat and refused to celebrate, instead holding his hands together above his head in a gesture many saw as an apology.

'Di Natale quits when Totti does'

Udinese patron Giampaolo Pozzo claims Antonio Di Natale “will play as long as Francesco Totti does.”

The striker turned 38 in October and has refused to confirm when he’ll retire, saying only that Pozzo knows everything.

“When it comes to Antonio I will only say that he will play as long as Francesco Totti does. Until the Roma captain retires, he too has to keep going,” Pozzo told Sky Sport Italia.

He was also asked about the rumours of taking Simone Zaza on loan from Juventus.
