Quagliarella returns to Napoli?

Fabio Quagliarella could return to his hometown club Napoli in January, but Sampdoria insist the veteran striker is “going nowhere.”

The Partenopei lost Arkadiusz Milik to a torn ACL in September and are seeking valid alternatives for their front three to allow more squad rotation.

According to Rai Sport, Coach Maurizio Sarri specifically pointed to Quagliarella as an ideal new signing.

The 34-year-old is on impressive form for Samp, contributing six goals and three assists in 10 Serie A games this season.

‘Samp to keep squad, Giampaolo…’

Sampdoria’s sporting director insists their squad “will stay together until at least June” and hopes “our next coup can be keeping Marco Giampaolo.”

Giampaolo has won rave reviews for his work in turning Samp from a mid-table outfit into a side playing attractive football and competing for a European place, while the likes of Lucas Torreira and Dennis Praet have been linked with moves away.

However, Carlo Osti told Rai Radio: “This group will stay together until at least June. After that, we’ll weigh things up.

‘Samp won’t sell Torreira in January’

Sampdoria sporting director Carlo Osti has affirmed that midfielder Lucas Torreira will not be leaving the club in January.

Torreira has attracted interest from the likes of Roma, Milan and Sevilla over the past year, but Osti made it clear Samp’s team “won’t be touched” until the summer, while also giving his opinions on Belgian ace Dennis Praet and Coach Marco Giampaolo.

'Schick won't leave without...'

Sampdoria director Carlo Osti warns “Patrik Schick will only leave if we are able to find a replacement,” as Inter and Roma do battle.

The Corriere dello Sport claims this evening that the Giallorossi have reached an agreement worth €38m, but other sources suggest the player is leaning towards Inter.

“It’s a summer full of surprises,” director of sport Osti told Rai Sport.

‘Schick to Juve? Who knows…’

Sampdoria sporting director Carlo Osti admits “we don’t know” if Patrik Schick will sign for Juventus.

The Czech international has a €25m release clause in his contract, and he appears to be very close to joining the Bianconeri.

The player himself has confirmed that a deal could be done after the international break, but the Blucerchiati claim they’re in the dark.

Osti: ‘Too soon for Schick to Inter’

Sampdoria sporting director Carlo Osti insists talk that Inter have a deal for Patrik Schick is “more fantasy than reality”.

The Czech striker has been a super-sub for the Blucerchiati this season, often coming off the bench and scoring.

That has led to suggestions he could move on quickly, with some reports even claiming the Nerazzurri already have a deal in place.

“It’s too soon, we’ve heard and seen a lot of things which have been written and are more fantasy than reality,” Osti insisted on Radio Babboleo.

Samp consider Giampaolo future?

Sampdoria are reportedly considering the future of Coach Marco Giampaolo after a run of poor results.

After a 0-0 draw with Empoli at the weekend, the Blucerchiati have taken just two points from their last five matches, and are winless since a 2-0 victory over Torino on December 4th.

The Coach came under heavy criticism for deploying midfielder Angelo Palombo as a makeshift centre-back in the game with his former side Empoli, a decision that had disastrous results.

‘No-one leaves Sampdoria in January’

Sampdoria sporting director Carlo Osti promises neither Luis Muriel “or anyone else” will leave the club in January.

The striker has been linked with a move to Napoli, and given the Blucerchiati’s traditional winter upheaval the transfer seemed a concrete possibility.

“I hope the upcoming transfer window is quieter than those in the past,” Osti confessed in an interview with Sky.
