Fabian injured in training

Napoli midfielder Fabian Ruiz reportedly had to stop during training yesterday and joined Kostas Manolas on the treatment table.

La Gazzetta dello Sport claims the Spaniard has suffered a muscle problem and his conditions will be monitored over the coming days.

A similar problem that Manolas suffered earlier and the first 10 days of training has brought complications for coach Gennaro Gattuso, who has adhered to the lockdown rules by maintaining social distancing in his sessions.

Napoli confirm Manolas thigh injury

Napoli confirm Kostas Manolas suffered a Grade II distraction of the semi-membrane in the right thigh muscle during training.

The Greek international limped off early during his session yesterday and underwent tests today.

A statement described a Grade II distraction to the semi-membrane in the right thigh muscle.

It remains to be seen how long he’ll be out of action for, but the statement does note “his condition will be evaluated over the coming weeks.”

That would suggest it is not a short-term issue.

Muscular injury for Manolas

Napoli only just started individual training over the last few days, but Kostas Manolas has already picked up a muscular injury.

The Partenopei are adhering to the lockdown rules by maintaining social distancing and mainly running or doing ball exercises, each on their own area of the training ground.

There had been concerns about the effect a two-month stop would have on athletes and Manolas is the first to pick up an injury at this club.

Florenzi: 'Only Manolas didn't believe with Barca'

Alessandro Florenzi reveals there was only one Roma player who didn’t believe they could complete the comeback with Barcelona – Kostas Manolas.

The full-back is currently on loan at Valencia, but admits he has no idea where he’ll be after June 30.

“I am at Valencia at the moment and it’s not clear yet whether FIFA will allow loans to be extended beyond then, because my contract expires in June and the season won’t end until at least July,” Florenzi told MotoGP champion Max Biaggi in an Instagram Live chat.

Manolas: 'Gattuso keeps us going'

Kostas Manolas says Gennaro Gattuso is keeping the Napoli squad going during the coronavirus lockdown. “We have a special relationship.”

Napoli exited the Champions League and were sliding down the Serie A table when they sacked Carlo Ancelotti in December but won nine of their 15 games under Gattuso before the season came to a stop.

“There’s a great desire to start over from everyone,” Manolas told Radio Kiss Kiss.

Manolas: 'Napoli can't waste chances'

Kostas Manolas was far from satisfied after Napoli beat Torino 2-1. “We’re in this position because we don’t take chances, lose concentration and suddenly it’s in the balance.”

This is the first time all season that the Partenopei have put together three consecutive Serie A victories.

Curiously, two defenders got the goals, Manolas and Giovanni Di Lorenzo, although Simone Edera still made it a nervous finale after his header in stoppages.
