Official: Dimarco back at Inter

Inter have officially brought back Italy Under-21 defender Federico Dimarco from Swiss side Sion.

Dimarco was sent to Sion for €4m last summer, but Inter retained a €7m buyback clause, while injury limited the 20-year-old to just nine appearances in Switzerland.

However, the left-back [pictured, left] is unlikely to stay in Milan for long as Tuttomercato expects him to move on to Serie A new boys Parma.

Report: Inter plan Barella swap

Inter are reportedly willing to give up two players for Cagliari midfielder Nicolo Barella.

According to Tuttosport, Inter hope to pull off a similar deal for Barella to the one that saw them sign Milan Skriniar last year.

The newspaper explains the Nerazzurri will offer teenage striker Andrea Pinamonti to Cagliari, as well as buy Federico Dimarco back from Sion, before forwarding the left-back to Sardinia.

Furthermore, the Beneamata would pay €12m on top for the 21-year-old and propose him a €4m salary.

U21: Dimarco replaces Petretta

The Italy Under-21 side has lost Basel defender Raoul Petretta to injury, calling Sion player Federico Dimarco instead.

The Azzurrini will play a friendly against Norway on Thursday, then visit Serbia in Novi Sad on March 27.

Petretta will not take part, as he has been diagnosed with a muscular problem and sent home.

Instead, interim Coach Alberico Evani has brought in Sion defender Dimarco.

Inter sold the 20-year-old left-back to the Swiss club for €4m over the summer.

Official: Dimarco joins Sion

Inter have officially confirmed that Federico Dimarco has joined FC Sion, in what’s thought to be a €2m deal.

The Nerazzurri must meet their Financial Fair Play obligations by the end of today, meaning they must make total sales of €30m.

It was reported this morning that they are on course to do so, with Dimarco contributing to that, and it has now been confirmed he’ll move to Switzerland.

Dimarco set for Sion

Inter are due to send Italy Under-20 full-back Federico Dimarco to Swiss side FC Sion.

According to multiple sources, the 19-year-old is at the Inter HQ this evening with agent Beppe Riso to sign the contract.

“I hope that it’ll be a see you soon rather than a goodbye,” Dimarco told Sky Sport Italia.

“I spoke to the Coach and also chose Sion because of their tactical system.”

It's believed to be a sale for €4m, but with a buy-back option so he could return to Inter.

Give Inter youth a chance

The answer to Inter’s Financial Fair Play worries is to trust in their youth academy, writes Richard Hall.

With Luciano Spalletti having officially shaken hands with Inter, there is a temptation to think that a revolution may be on the horizon. Whilst it is true that the Suning Investment Group have arrived with substantial capital, Financial Fair Play still means that the club must operate within certain restrictions. With a squad that is packed full of talent, there is perhaps the option for Inter to draw on some youth products next year and look for evolution rather than revolution.

U19 Italy dispose of England

Italy's U19 side beat England 2-1 thanks to their coolness on dead-ball situations, winning the European Championship's semi-final.

The Azzurrini went into the game with the backing of some of the senior team's most famous stars, but they were up against a team that had won all games in the tournament so far.

However the match did not prove as tense as onlookers expected. The Italians took the lead at the 27', after a foul on Andrea Favilli led to a penalty.
