Report: No Aouar for Juve

Juventus look to have passed up Houssem Aouar as it is reported the Olympique Lyonnais midfielder is on his way to Arsenal.

Juve had long been linked with Aouar and were thought to be preparing a bid for him earlier in the summer.

However, Telefoot is claiming this evening that whereas they and Barcelona were his preferred destinations, neither made a serious offer for his services.

That would have allowed Arsenal to steal a march, with the Gunners bidding around €40m for the Frenchman.

Lyon links with Paqueta grow

As reports grow of Lyon interest in Milan midfielder Lucas Paqueta, President Jean-Michel Aulas declares it ‘fake news.’

The rumours started in Italy and have now spread to France, specifically L’Equipe, with suggestions of talks for a €27m deal.

Paqueta is on the transfer market, having failed to make an impact since his January 2019 move from Flamengo at a cost of €38m plus bonuses.

However, just as the stories were increasing in intensity, Lyon President Aulas took to Twitter in order to shoot them down.

Lyon option for Paqueta

Milan are struggling to find buyers for Lucas Paqueta, but Olympique Lyonnais have shown an interest and possible €23m bid.

The Brazilian midfielder cost €38.4m plus bonuses to purchase from Flamengo in January 2019, but has failed to live up to expectations.

He has just one goal and three assists in 44 competitive games for the Diavolo.

Under contract until June 2023, the Rossoneri want to sell so they can fund other transfer deals, such as Tiemoue Bakayoko from Chelsea or Boubakary Soumare of Lille.
