Salah or Perotti in Lyon?

Roma must choose between Mohamed Salah and Diego Perotti in a 3-4-2-1 formation against Lyon in the Europa League tonight.

The first leg of the Round of 16 tie kicks off in France at 20.05 GMT.

Antonio Rudiger is suspended for this game, while Alessandro Florenzi is on the treatment table and January signing Clement Grenier cup-tied.

According to the latest reports, Luciano Spalletti will stick with three at the back after a move to four proved to be a mistake in the 2-1 home defeat to Napoli last week.

Lyon not beyond Roma

Despite a recent slump in form, Andrea Tallarita believes that Roma have more than enough quality to dispose of Lyon.

Spirits aren't flying high in the red and yellow half of the capital. Recent defeats to Lazio and Napoli have left the wolves with very slim hopes of mounting a credible challenge for either the Coppa Italia or the Scudetto.

With several of Roma's starters suffering from fatigue and their once unbreakable defensive line shipping six goals in the last four matches, every Romanista must be looking to Thursday's Europa League Round of 16 match against Lyon with a sense of trepidation, not to say foreboding doom.

Tolisso to cost Juventus €40m

Juventus reportedly have a pact for midfielder Corentin Tolisso, but Olympique Lyonnais only want €40m cash, not Mario Lemina.

Lyon President Jean-Michel Aulas confirmed this week that there would be some major sales over the summer, referencing the January offer they rejected for Tolisso.

According to Tuttosport newspaper, the €40m price-tag will not budge and above all the club only accepts cash.

Juve were hoping to include Lemina as part of the deal, therefore lowering the cost of the operation.

Juventus and Inter clash tomorrow night on the pitch, but are reportedly also going to do battle for Lyon midfielder Corentin Tolisso.

There have been numerous reports in recent weeks of Juve laying the groundwork for a summer swoop.

Tolisso is seen as the ideal midfield reinforcement after the departure of Paul Pogba to Manchester United and failure to capture Axel Witsel.

According to Tuttosport, Juventus face strong competition for the €40m-rated Frenchman from their Serie A rivals Inter.

Roma gamble on Grenier

New signing Clement Grenier is a low-cost gamble, argues Andrea Tallarita, which is a good move for Roma.

Considering some of the spectacular failures we've witnessed in the bygone Walter Sabatini era, Roma could really have done much worse than signing Clement Grenier.

A loyal representative of Olympique Lyonnais (he played for them since he was 11), Grenier just turned 26 and brings much to the table that Roma could use. He is a versatile attacking midfielder with experience of high-level football and a desire to reaffirm himself. Best of all, he is coming on a free loan, with an option to buy at a measly €3.5m.

“Grenier, 26, has opted to take the No. 7 shirt for the Giallorossi.
