Balotelli: 'I'd like Napoli move'

Brescia striker Mario Balotelli has confessed “I’d be very happy” to play for Napoli and that Zlatan Ibrahimovic once told him he “wasn’t good enough”.

Balotelli has made no secret of his admiration for Napoli in the past, once claiming that they were the only Italian team he would come back for.

“I tried,” he said during a live Instagram Q&A with Fabio Cannavaro.

Vieira: 'Balotelli can't understand teamwork'

Nice coach Patrick Vieira was “disappointed” with Mario Balotelli. “It’s really difficult for him to understand that football is about teamwork.”

The Italy international has never hit the heights his potential warranted and is now also struggling at hometown club Brescia.

Ronaldo left the stadium in anger after being substituted during the 1-0 win over Milan on Sunday and the Nice coach warned Juventus need to sort it out quickly.

Marchisio: My 8 ‘in best hands’

Claudio Marchisio feels his No 8 is “in the best hands” with Aaron Ramsey at Juventus and reveals Frank Lampard and Steven Gerrard were his favourites.

Marchisio wore 8 for Juve between 2009 and 2018, winning seven straight Scudetti with the number, and his shirt has since been taken in Turin by Ramsey following his arrival from Arsenal.

“[My No 8 is] in the best hands. Ramsey is a fantastic player,” the 33-year-old told The Daily Mail.

Vieira new option for Milan

Nice boss Patrick Vieira has emerged as another new contender to replace Gennaro Gattuso at Milan next season.

According to Rai Sport, the Rossoneri have set their sights on the Frenchman, even if Eusebio Di Francesco remains the favourite.

The 42-year-old tactician is certainly no stranger to Serie A, having played for Milan in 1995-96, then Juventus in 2005-06 and Inter until January 2010.

His management career began in the Manchester City youth academy, moving on to NYCFC in MLS and since this season Ligue 1 club Nice.

Vieira: 'Italy ignorant on racism'

Patrick Vieira blasted Italian society, clubs and players like Leonardo Bonucci for being “ignorant” when it comes to racism. “Nothing has changed since my day.”

The debate over how to deal with racism in stadiums hit the headlines again last week with the ugly scenes from Lazio ultras in the Coppa Italia semi-final with Milan.

Despite repeated warnings read over the speaker system, play was never halted by the prefect in charge of security – as in Italy, the referee is not given the authority to suspend a game for racist abuse.

Vieira takes Balotelli swipe

Patrick Vieira took a swipe at Mario Balotelli after the striker’s Olympique Marseille winner against former club Nice. “He was rather non-existent…”

Balotelli became the first Marseille player in 45 years to score in four consecutive home games as his side beat Vieira’s Nice 1-0 on Sunday.

“He scored and that’s good for Marseille,” the Coach said after the game, RMC Sport reports.

“My defenders did very well but, that aside, our lack of attention on Mario hurt us a lot.

Bakayoko: I'm like Vieira

Milan midfielder Tiemoue Bakayoko claims ‘all the fans have changed their minds about me’ and that he is ‘most like’ Patrick Vieira.

Balotelli in racism documentary

Mario Balotelli, Samuel Eto’o and Patrick Vieira are among stars taking part in a French documentary on racism in football, titled ‘I am not a monkey.’

The programme will be shown on Canal+ on January 6 and clips have been released in advance.

They include an interview with Italy international Balotelli, who comments on the abuse he has received, including in his own homeland.
