Toro: Soriano in, Acquah out

Torino have officially signed Roberto Soriano from Villarreal and sent Afriyie Acquah to Empoli.

Soriano arrives on loan for €1m with a €14m option to buy, while Transfermarkt reports Acquah has joined Empoli for €900,000.

The Italian scored 11 goals in 73 appearances for Villarreal, who paid Sampdoria €13.75m to sign him in 2016.

Initially a central midfielder, he tended to play out on the left for the Yellow Submarine and has eight caps for the Azzurri.

Acquah to sign for Empoli

Empoli are on the verge of signing Ghana international midfielder Afriyie Acquah from Torino.

The 26-year-old is in advanced negotiations and ready to put pen to paper on the contracts.

His current deal with Toro was due to expire at the end of the season and there had been interest from multiple clubs, including SPAL, Udinese, Chievo and West Bromwich Albion.

According to Sky Sport Italia, Acquah will sign for newly-promoted Empoli over the next 24 hours.

Acquah opts for Empoli

Torino midfielder Afriyie Acquah is on the verge of completing his transfer to Empoli, despite Udinese and Parma interest.

The 26-year-old Ghana international has been with the Granata since 2015 and his contract is due to expire next summer.

According to Toro.it, a decision has been made for him to join Empoli and sign a three-year deal with option for a fourth.

The cost of the operation is expected to be around €2.5m.

Udinese and Parma had also shown interest, along with West Bromwich Albion in England.

Krunic close to joining Toro?

Torino are reportedly close to signing midfielder Rade Krunic from Empoli, with Afriyie Acquah moving in the opposite direction.

The 24-year-old Bosnian has been linked with a move to the Granata for some time and it appears a deal has been agreed between the two clubs.

According to Tuttosport, the only thing now standing in the way of a total agreement is Acquah’s negotiation of personal terms with Empoli.

The Ghanaian currently earns around €500,000-a-year with Toro, on a contract that is set to expire next summer.

Acquah set for Birmingham City

Afriyie Acquah is expected to have his final Torino match today ahead of a €9m (£8.2m) transfer to Birmingham City.

The 25-year-old Ghana international is called up for this evening’s Serie A opener against Bologna.

However, Toro.it are confident a decisive meeting with Birmingham will be held on Tuesday.

‘Birmingham still want Acquah’
