Ribery recovers for Fiorentina

Franck Ribery is in the Fiorentina squad to face Cagliari on Sunday after scans showed no serious knee injury.

Ribery had been a major doubt to feature after limping off with an apparent right knee sprain during the 2-1 defeat to Fiorentina.

However, scans were reassuring, he was back in training today and is in the squad.

Fiorentina exclude ligament injury for Ribery

Fiorentina forward Franck Ribery will be re-evaluated in a few days as the initial medical check excluded an injury to the ligament.

The Viola forward suffered a hit to the right knee against Lazio and was replaced towards the end of the first half of the 2-1 defeat.

Today, the French attacker carried out a personalised session and underwent tests to assess the damage.

“The medical check carried out this morning by the Fiorentina medical staff, excluded a ligament capsule injury,” the club wrote in a statement.

Fiorentina: Ribery picks up injury

Franck Ribery picked up an injury during the first half of Lazio-Fiorentina and was replaced with Valentin Eysseric.

The French striker started for La Viola against Lazio at the Stadio Olimpico, but Cesare Prandelli was forced to replace him after just 37 minutes.

According to Sky Sport, the Frenchman picked up a muscle injury and his conditions will be assessed in the coming hours.

Eysseric replaced the former Bayern Munich star with Christian Kouamé who remained on the bench.
