Iachini: 'Ribery out for another month'

Fiorentina coach Beppe Iachini has revealed that the French winger Franck Ribery will still need “a month” to recover from his surgery.

The former Bayern Munich star has been out since late November, after suffering a serious ankle injury against Lecce.

The problem required surgery and Iachini will be careful with their star man and won’t rush him back, but also recognises his value off the pitch.

Kouame: 'Couldn't believe Fiorentina called'

New Fiorentina signing Christian Kouame says he “couldn’t believe it when the club called,” following his January move from Genoa.

Kouame signed for the Viola despite being injured, but the club’s director of sport Daniele Prade had no doubts.

“Christian is a strong player. Buying a player in January who is injured may seem like a risk, but he is not,” Prade said at Kouame’s unveiling.

“His sugery was done well and he might be back on the pitch in April, even if we are aiming for next season.

Iachini: 'Fiorentina need quality'

Fiorentina coach Beppe Iachini believes he has found the key to turning their season around after recent setbacks. “Football of a higher quality.”

The Viola are back to stuttering again after an initial boost following Vincenzo Montella’s dismissal in December, as they are out of the Coppa Italia and suffered back-to-back Serie A defeats with Juventus and Atalanta.

“Football is made up of moments and we had been putting in good performances before that,” coach Iachini told reporters at the opening of a new football school.

Ribery to return to training

Fiorentina have issued a statement revealing that Franck Ribery can begin training following the removal of pins in his ankle.

Ribery has been out of action for the Viola since late November, when he suffered a serious ankle injury against Lecce.

Ribery’s injury required surgery and the winger has missed the Viola’s last 15 games.

Chiesa: 'Want best for Fiorentina'

Federico Chiesa broke his silence after skipping a vacation to train and discuss his contract. “We all want what is best for Fiorentina.”

Fiorentina: Ribery out for 10 weeks

Franck Ribery has undergone ankle surgery and Fiorentina confirm he is expected to be back in action “in circa 10 weeks.”

The veteran had been suffering from a badly sprained ankle, which had led to some ligament damage.

After a check-up, it was confirmed he would benefit from a minor operation to stabilise the ankle and that was performed today in Germany by Professor Johannes Gabel.

The club released a statement this afternoon announcing the operation was a success and Ribery will return to Florence tomorrow to begin rehabilitation.

Ribery out for two months?

Fiorentina star Franck Ribery is to have ankle surgery today and it’s reported he will be out of action for two months.

The club confirmed a check-up showed his ankle needed an operation to stabilise it following a very bad sprain with ligament damage.

A statement noted he has flown out to “Murnau hospital in Germany with Fiorentina club doctor Luca Pengue and physiotherapist Simone Michelassi ahead of an operation on his right ankle.

Dragowski: 'Fiorentina behind Montella'

Bartlomiej Dragowski says Fiorentina “aren’t afraid” of Inter and that they will be playing to keep Vincenzo Montella in charge.
