Weah: ‘Ronaldo not the best in the world, but…’

Former Milan striker George Weah believes Juventus remain the favourite to win the Serie A title and insists Cristiano Ronaldo is not the best player in the world.

The Rossoneri legend shared his thoughts on the Serie A title race in an interview with La Gazzetta dello Sport.

“Milan have begun a new, brilliant path. The culture of victory is part of the Rossoneri’s DNA,” the ex striker said.

Ronaldo climbing Juventus charts

The all-time record for goals might be disputed, but Cristiano Ronaldo is rapidly climbing the list of top Juventus scorers.

CR7 found the net for the 760th time in his career during last night’s 2-0 Supercoppa victory over Napoli.

That includes all goals scored in official matches at senior level, for both club and country.

Gianluigi Buffon congratulated Cristiano Ronaldo for his ‘umpteenth career record’ after the Juventus talisman scored his 760th goal.

The Portuguese striker scored in the 2-0 win over Napoli in the Supercoppa Italiana on Wednesday and thus broke the record of Josef Bican, who had 759 official goals, according to Opta.

Cristiano Ronaldo hopes Juventus winning the Supercoppa by beating Napoli 2-0 can ‘give us more confidence going into the future.’

CR7 opened the scoring and Alvaro Morata sealed it on the counter with the last kick of the game after Lorenzo Insigne had fired a penalty wide.

“We are very happy with the win, it was difficult, especially as the pitch was terrible, but we got it done,” Ronaldo told RAI Sport.

Ronaldo becomes top goal scorer of all time

Cristiano Ronaldo scored his 760th career goal during the Italian Supercup Final becoming the top goal scorer of all time.

The Portuguese star had equalled Josef Bican’s record for goals scored for club and country during Juventus’ 3-1 win over Sassuolo on January 10.

He then overtook the former Czech striker in the Italian Supercup Final against Napoli on Wednesday night.

Morata prepares for 'special' match
