Sarri: 'Discuss what's wrong at Chelsea'

Maurizio Sarri warned he has plenty to tell Chelsea in their end of season meeting, but sees improvements after the squad “got two or three games incredibly wrong.”

The tactician held a Press conference today, but he also spoke to Sky Sport Italia afterwards.

He had said the club shouldn’t judge him on the outcome of the Europa League Final against Arsenal and expanded on that with the Italian reporters.

Sarri: 'Don't know what to expect'

Maurizio Sarri insists he didn’t snub Pep Guardiola after Chelsea’s 6-0 defeat to Manchester City. “If the President calls, I’ll be happy, seeing as I never hear from him.”

This evening’s 6-0 result was the heaviest ever Chelsea defeat in the Premier League and they were 4-0 down in the opening half-hour.

“We’ll need to find the explanation for all this over the next few hours,” Sarri told Sky Sport Italia.

Ancelotti enjoying Napoli talks

New Napoli Coach Carlo Ancelotti chose an ideal environment for transfer strategy talks – Aurelio De Laurentiis’ yacht.

The two men were photographed with their families on the island of Capri, then taking the sun on the President’s luxury yacht moored on the shores of Positano.

Pre-season training begins next week and Ancelotti will be presented to the media.

According to Il Napolista, Chelsea owner Roman Abramovich is also in Capri at the moment, so it could be the chance to discuss Maurizio Sarri’s status.

Premier League ready for Sarrismo

Chelsea are set to replace current Italian Coach Antonio Conte with Maurizio Sarri who can breathe new ideas into English football, writes Matthew Santangelo.

For weeks since Napoli confirmed the appointment of Carlo Ancelotti, Chelsea supporters have been clamouring for Russian owner Roman Abramovich to bring in Maurizio Sarri to replace their Premier League-winning Italian Coach Antonio Conte.

The Blues are keen to answer those calls, but have so far struggled to agree a compensation package with Napoli. What seems clear though, is that Abramovich has identified Sarri as his man.

Conte and Sarri underappreciated

Antonio Conte and Maurizio Sarri find themselves pushed to the sidelines and vastly underappreciated by clubs and fans, writes Cronan Yu.

“Chelsea found the right way to be strong together,” Antonio Conte said with a smile etched right across his face. Chelsea had just won the Premier League in emphatic fashion, aided by a remarkable 13-match unbeaten streak between October 2016 and January 2017, and the Italian maestro struggled to contain his euphoria whilst promising that the club would build on the success.

Sarri enters Abramovich trap

In some ways, Maurizio Sarri is the ideal Coach for Roman Abramovich's Chelsea, but Daryl Hammond worries he won't get the time to prove it.

Since buying Chelsea in 2003, Russian Oligarch Roman Abramovich has longed for three things. Success in England, success in Europe, and to do it all playing attractive football.

Several millions later, he cracked the code to the Premier League title in two years, and has won 15 domestic trophies during his tenure. And they conquered Europe against all odds, beating Bayern to win the Champions League in 2012 and the Europa League a year later. But through all that success, his sides have never been the most stylish.

Chelsea haggle over Sarri clause

Chelsea have agreed terms with Maurizio Sarri, but Italian reports suggest they don’t intend to pay Napoli the €8m release clause.

Sarri is still at his home in Figline, near Florence, as his entourage engaged in marathon talks with Chelsea over the last couple of days.

Sportitalia, La Gazzetta dello Sport and others all claim Sarri has won Roman Abramovich over and has agreed terms for a contract worth €6m per year.

Di Francesco on Chelsea radar

Roma Coach Eusebio Di Francesco and Napoli’s Maurizio Sarri are among several tacticians linked with the Chelsea job in England.

According to the Daily Telegraph, patron Roman Abramovich is looking at several different profiles to replace Antonio Conte next term.

That list includes two Italians currently impressing in Serie A.

Sarri is not a new link to Stamford Bridge, as his style of football has been admired by Manchester City boss Pep Guardiola.

Agent: Chelsea ‘dream’ of Sarri

Chelsea owner Roman Abramovich ‘dreams’ of making Napoli’s Maurizio Sarri his Coach, according to Gianfranco Zola’s agent.

Sarri and Zola have been linked with forging a managerial ‘dream team’ at Chelsea, which would see the Napoli boss replace Antonio Conte at the helm and the Blues legend work as a sporting director.

“Chelsea are among the clubs that would be in for Sarri,” Fulvio Marrucco told Radio Crc when asked about that possibility.

Report: Chelsea ready to sack Conte

Antonio Conte could be sacked if Chelsea lose to Watford on Monday, according to the Daily Express, and replaced by Luis Enrique.

The tactician said this week that he was ruling himself out of the running for the Italy job because he has 18 months left on his contract at Stamford Bridge.

However, poor results and an increasingly tense relationship with owner Roman Abramovich could see that deal terminated early.

Despite his protestations, it’s widely believed Conte intends to leave Chelsea at the end of this season regardless.
