China's richest man wants Inter?

Alibaba chief Jack Ma, described as China’s richest man, is reportedly set to purchase Erick Thohir’s 31 percent stake in Inter.

According to Corriere dello Sport and Tuttosport, Ma would invest in Inter through Yunfeng Capital, a fund based in Hong Kong and created with fellow tech tycoon David Yu.

The newspapers explain Thohir’s share is valued at ‘around €150m’ and that could be the figure Yungfeng pays to buy out the Indonesian.

Hong Kong investors for Inter

Suning Group could have a new Inter partner, as multiple reports state a Hong Kong investment firm will buy Erick Thohir’s 30 per cent of the club.

There had already been rumours this morning that Suning were dealing with a takeover bid.

However, Il Messaggero, La Gazzetta dello Sport and Sky Sport Italia now note the investors are set to purchase Thohir’s remaining 30 per cent cut of the Nerazzurri shares.

Negotiations are believed to be at an advanced stage and could be finalised within two to three weeks.

'Suning can take Messi to Inter'

Eder believes Suning Group ‘can make Inter dream’ and that the Chinese conglomerate is capable of bringing Barcelona superstar Lionel Messi to the club.

Eder still has links with Inter, given he plays for their sister club Jiangsu Suning, and the former Italy striker suggested Cristiano Ronaldo’s transfer to Juventus made Messi to San Siro possible.

“I’ve seen Suning’s sense of empire from within, and they have everything to bring Inter up to the height of that empire,” he told Gazzetta dello Sport.

Marotta: Suning a 'great group'

Beppe Marotta has returned from his meeting with ‘great’ Inter owners Suning Group in China, describing it as ‘a beautiful experience’.

Marotta spent the weekend in Nanjing to reportedly discuss his future role as Inter general manager, with Corriere dello Sport reporting Suning plans to give him ‘carte blanche’.

“It was a beautiful experience. They’re a great group,” he told Il Giornale.

Inter could exit FFP restrictions

Inter may finally be relieved of Financial Fair Play sanctions, with UEFA to analyse their books this month.

The Nerazzurri were given a three-year settlement agreement in 2015, and it was extended for this year after the club was found to be only partially compliant.

According to today’s Corriere dello Sport, UEFA will this month analyse the accounts up to June 30, 2018 to decide whether they have met their objectives.

Zhang outlines Inter ambitions

An ‘extremely proud’ Steven Zhang assures sporting performance remains the priority for Inter but also wants to make them ‘a leader in technology’.

Zhang was named Inter’s new President on Friday during their annual shareholders’ meeting, and the Suning Group heir is described by the Nerazzurri as ‘one of the most influential young business leaders in China’. 

“Today, I am extremely proud to lead this club into a new era,” the 26-year-old [picture, left] told the club’s official website.

Inter losses a 15-year low

Inter recorded their lowest losses for 15 years in 2017-18 and increased turnover, despite not participating in Europe.

Calcio e Finanza reports Inter turned over €349.6m in the financial year that ended on June 30, 2018 – up 9 percent from the previous year and over €25m more than what they earned in their year of the Treble.

Losses would have dropped to €17.7m, which is the Nerazzurri’s lowest since 02-03, while revenues from home games rose by 37% and 17% more season tickets were sold.

Suning Group heir Steven Zhang has been officially named Inter’s new President.

Inter confirmed Zhang’s appointment to their board in a video on their social channels.

“When I close my eyes, I see a city with so much history and more to be written,” he said.

“People with ideas, with the will to improve what’s around them and themselves.

“A club that plays beyond the field to win the hearts of everyone. But then I open my eyes and see that all this is already here. I’m ready, are you?”

Suning invest nearly €500m in Inter

Inter owners Suning Group have invested close to €500m in the club in the past two years, accounts reveal.

The Chinese conglomerate bought out majority shareholder Erick Thohir in 2016, with the Indonesian taking Massimo Moratti’s remaining 30 per cent.

Since then they’ve invested heavily, as Calcio e Finanza reveals in an analysis of the consolidated financial statements for 2017-18.

The accounts show that Suning have invested a total €474m between June 29 2016 and June 30 2018.

Zanetti: 'Inter start new era'

Javier Zanetti believes Inter are just starting out a new great era and will eventually partner Mauro Icardi with Lautaro Martinez.
