Semplici: ‘Important not to lose’

Leonardo Semplici stresses the importance of his SPAL side avoiding defeat at Sassuolo today.

The Biancazzurri travel to face their relegation rivals today on the back of two successive Serie A victories.

The Ferrara side’s improved form has lifted them out of the bottom three and Semplici is looking for another positive result to boost SPAL’s survivial bid.

“Our mentality means we look to achieve our targets through our play,” the Coach said at a Press conference.

Caracciolo: 'Important goal'

Verona defender Antonio Caracciolo knows “the importance of this goal, but we’re still down there” after beating Chievo 1-0.

The defender got his second goal of the season, the other being in a 3-0 victory over Milan in December.

“I know the importance of the goal, but we’re still down there. We have a series of Finals coming up, this was the first, and we need to keep up that determination in every fixture,” Caracciolo told Sky Sport Italia.

De Zerbi: ‘Obliged to win'

Roberto De Zerbi says Benevento must respect Verona in their crucial Serie A relegation six-pointer.

Le Streghe have shown signs of life of late in their uphill battle against the drop, although SPAL’s win over Bologna yesterday means they start today 13 points shy of safety.

And speaking ahead of the clash against the team directly above them, De Zerbi admitted his side are ‘obliged to win.’

“It is an important match, a little bit more so than others,” the former Palermo boss said.
