Official: SPAL sell Costa to Napoli

SPAL have officially sold 24-year-old left-back Filippo Costa to Napoli, announced the club.

Costa came up through the Chievo youth academy, with spells on loan at Pisa and Bournemouth.

He joined SPAL on loan with option to buy in January 2017 for six months.

Last season, Costa made 11 appearances for SPAL between Serie A and the Coppa Italia.

Official: Lazzari joins Lazio

Lazio have officially signed wingback Manuel Lazzari from SPAL for a reported €10m plus Alessandro Murgia.

Lazzari has put pen to paper on a five-year contract with Lazio and becomes their third summer arrival after Bobby Adekanye and Denis Vavro.

The 25-year-old began his career at SPAL and helped them through the divisions, from Serie C to Serie A in just three seasons.

His performances also earned him an Italy cap last September.

Lazzari arrives for Lazio

Manuel Lazzari has already arrived at the Lazio training ground, as he’ll complete his transfer from SPAL this week.

The winger shook hands with his new teammates at the Formello camp in Rome, as shown by the official club Twitter account.

He is expected to have his medical tests on Thursday before signing the paperwork.

It’s believed to be a €10m deal for the 25-year-old, with Alessandro Murgia joining SPAL permanently as part-exchange.

Official: SPAL sign D'Alessandro

SPAL have officially brought in Marco D’Alessandro from Atalanta, on loan with option to buy that could become an obligation.

The winger came up through the youth academies of both Lazio and Roma before spells with Hellas Verona, Grosseto, Bari, Livorno, Hellas Verona, Cesena, Atalanta and Benevento.

He is now 28 years old and completed the transfer this evening.

It is a loan deal with option to buy at the end of the season, but that becomes an obligation if certain targets and circumstances are achieved.

Castagne rejects Palace?

Timothy Castagne has reportedly shunned a move to Crystal Palace and will instead sign a new contract with Atalanta.

Sportitalia claimed last week that Palace were hoping to use the money from Aaron Wan-Bissaka’s sale to Manchester United on Castagne.

However, Gazzetta dello Sport warns the Belgian is ‘untouchable’ for Atalanta and talks are under way over a new deal.

Official: SPAL sign Berisha

SPAL have officially signed goalkeeper Etrit Berisha on loan with obligation to buy at certain conditions from Atalanta.

The Albania international has been in Italy since 2013 at Lazio, then Atalanta, while he is now taking on a new adventure with SPAL.

The 30-year-old had fallen down the pecking order in Bergamo and became second choice to Pierluigi Gollini.

Berisha has 56 senior caps for Albania and still made 22 competitive appearances for Atalanta last season.

Berisha set for SPAL

Atalanta goalkeeper Etrit Berisha is expected to complete his transfer to SPAL on Thursday.

Sky Sport Italia reports the deal is done and Berisha only needs to pass his medical before putting pen to paper.

The 30-year-old joined Atalanta from Lazio in 2016 but lost his place to Italy new boy Pierluigi Gollini last season.

SPAL have been looking for a new No 1 after Emiliano Viviano returned to Sporting CP.

'Lazio have all-but-signed Lazzarri'

Lazio have confirmed that they have all-but-signed SPAL wingback Manuel Lazzari. “Only the formalities are missing.”

Sky Sport Italia reported on Monday afternoon that an agreement had been reached between Lazio and SPAL over Lazzari.

That was followed by official admission of a deal from Aquile spokesman Stefano De Martino.

“He’s proved his worth and he was looked at by several teams,” De Martino told Lazio Style Radio.

Official: SPAL buy Petagna

SPAL have announced permanent deals for four players, including last season’s top goalscorer Andrea Petagna.

Petagna joined SPAL from Atalanta last summer on loan for €3m with a €12m obligation to buy if they avoided relegation.

The striker played a key role in that, scoring 16 Serie A goals for the Biancazzurri, and he has since been signed outright.

Lazzari on verge of Lazio move

Lazio are closer than ever to a deal for SPAL winger Manuel Lazzari, with an offer worth €15m cash plus Alessandro Murgia.

Multiple sources including Sky Sport Italia, Sportitalia and more are confident the move will be completed next week.

SPAL are prepared to accept €15m in cash plus full ownership of Italy U-21 midfielder Murgia.

It is a relatively simple situation, as Murgia – who turns 23 in August – already spent the last six months at SPAL on loan.
