Semplici: 'SPAL on the right track'

Leonardo Semplici explains the shaky SPAL start to this season and why victory over Parma points the way forward.

Andrea Petagna got the only goal, but the Spallini dominated the match and even after going a man down, rarely looked to be in danger.

“It was a difficult game against a quality side,” the Coach told Sky Sport Italia.

This was only their second victory of the season after beating Lazio 2-1 here.

D'Aversa: 'Parma didn't do enough'

Roberto D’Aversa was deeply disappointed with Parma after their 1-0 defeat to SPAL. “We didn’t do enough to bring home a point.”

Andrea Petagna got the only goal, while Gabriel Strefezza was sent off on 70 minutes, but 10-man SPAL were barely ever at risk.

“SPAL had far more determination and desire to get the result, they put more into it and we frankly didn’t do enough to bring home a point,” the Coach told Sky Sport Italia.

D'Aversa: Darmian, Gagliolo, Gervinho...

Parma boss Roberto D’Aversa confirms Matteo Darmian will miss SPAL, feels ‘honoured’ by Riccardo Gagliolo’s Sweden call and tips Gervinho to bounce back.

Darmian was absent for Parma’s 3-2 win against Torino on Monday with a thigh injury, and the former Manchester United man will remain so tomorrow.

“Laurini and Darmian will not take part in the pitch, Matteo hasn’t recovered and he’ll be back after the international break,” D’Aversa said at a Press conference.
