Knee surgery for Regini

The season is over for Sampdoria defender Vasco Regini, currently on loan with SPAL, as he underwent knee surgery.

The 28-year-old was diagnosed with a tear to the medial meniscus in his left knee following a training session incident on Wednesday.

A statement from SPAL confirmed Regini had keyhole surgery to stabilise the injury at the Villa Stuart clinic in Rome.

It means he will miss Sunday’s final Serie A match of the season against Milan.
