Former Juventus striker Darko Kovacevic is convinced his ex-teammate Zizou Zidane will take charge of the Bianconeri one day.

The ex-Lazio and Juventus striker released an interview with Tuttosport ahead of Saturday’s Serie A meeting between his former clubs. However, he will support Max Allegri’s men at the Stadio Olimpico tomorrow.

“The two years I spent in Turin were special. I have great memories, and I hope they’ll win and reach the Champions League,” said the 50-year-old.

Kovacevic played with many stars in Turin, including Zidane, and he is convinced that the former Real Madrid coach will be appointed by the Bianconeri one day.

“Zizou loves Juventus, and he’s never hidden it. I am sure he will coach Juve one day. However, I still don’t know when.

“Juventus are loved worldwide, when you are part of it, you understand the importance. Zidane was the best in the world and there were other champions like Del Piero, Davids, Trezeguet and Tacchinardi. Amazing players and fantastic people.”

Kovacevic also played with Igor Tudor who will make his debut on the Lazio bench against Juventus tomorrow.

“Igor is perfect for Lazio, and his appointment will surely make life difficult for Juventus. He is an excellent coach, as he proved in Verona and Marseille. His teams play good football. He is solid and aggressive, as he was as a footballer.

“I played with footballers of great personality. I’m not surprised to see the likes of Conte, Montero, Inzaghi and Tudor become coaches.”

Kovacevic joined Juventus from Real Sociedad in 1999 and scored 26 goals in 71 appearances with the Serie A giants before joining Lazio.

His time in the capital was shorter as he remained at the Stadio Olimpico for just six months failing to score a goal in 11 appearances. The ex-Serbian striker returned to Real Sociedad in the 2002 January transfer window.
