Rastelli: 'Two points lost'

Massimo Rastelli admitted to being 'angry and disappointed' despite Cagliari's 1-1 draw at Sampdoria.

The Rossoblu picked up a rare away point at the Luigi Ferraris today, this being just the third time in 13 matches on their travels this season that they have avoided defeat.

However, the Sardi Coach was bitterly disappointed by the officials' decision to disallow what would have been a late winner by Victor Ibarbo.

Rastelli: 'Cagliari not safe'

Massimo Rastelli wants Cagliari to imagine they are playing at home when they face Sampdoria.

The Sardi have steered well clear of Serie A's relegation battle in their first season back in the top flight, but have lost 10 of their 12 away matches so far this campaign.

Speaking at a Press conference, the 48-year-old said he wanted good results in both of his team's upcoming trips against Samp and Crotone.

Rastelli: 'Cagliari perfect until the goal'

Cagliari Coach Massimo Rastelli felt they were having a “perfect” game up until Juventus broke the deadlock in a 2-0 home defeat.

Gonzalo Higuain found the net just before half-time, then added another goal straight after the restart at the Stadio Sant’Elia.

“Up until the first Juventus goal we were having a perfect game,” the tactician told Sky Sport Italia.

Rastelli: 'Early goal killed us'

Massimo Rastelli admits Cagliari's plans against Atalanta were ruined by conceding an early goal.

Despite their comfortable mid-table position in Serie A, the Sardinians have now lost 10 of their 12 League matches away from home this season.

"Conceding a goal after five minutes ruined our plans," the Rossoblu Coach reflected after the 2-0 defeat to Europa League-chasing La Dea.

"Atalanta played with determination. For us, everything became very difficult after they made it 2-0.

'Cagliari need more away points'

Cagliari Coach Massimo Rastelli says his side need to start picking up more away points as they prepare to face Atalanta.

The Sardinians are relatively comfortable in their first season back in Serie A, sitting 14 points clear of the relagation zone.

Although their home record this campaign has been as good as Milan's, away from home they have lost on nine out of 11 occasions - a record Rastelli believes must change.

"We need to return from Bergamo with a positive result and we can do it," Rastelli told a Press conference.

Rastelli: 'Cagliari should've won'

Massimo Rastelli believes “if there was a side that should’ve won today, it was Cagliari” after scraping a 1-1 draw with Bologna.

The Sardinians had the best chances throughout the game, but had been trailing 1-0 and only snatched an equaliser in stoppages against nine men.

“It was a great performance until Bologna scored, as that demoralised us,” said the Coach in his press conference.

Rastelli: 'Dzeko goal was a foul'

Massimo Rastelli felt Roma’s winning goal should’ve been disallowed for a push on Nicola Murru. “It looked like a foul.”

Edin Dzeko got the only goal of the game at the Stadio Olimpico, their third consecutive 1-0 Serie A success.

“We lacked the final ball to create truly important scoring opportunities,” the Coach told Mediaset Premium.
