Kodra: 'Parma sold to Slovenians'

President Ermir Kodra reveals they sold Parma to Slovenian-Italian investors and “the financial situation was not what we were told.”

Kodra was only unveiled as the new President of Parma last week after the club was bought in December, but patron Rezart Taci surprisingly sold his majority shares to mystery new investors.

“We had a very brief window to pay the third parties and resolve all the various situations,” Kodra told Sky Sport Italia and Parma TV.

Ilicic refuses to play for Slovenia

Fiorentina’s Josip Ilicic is refusing to play for Slovenia as long as Srecko Katanec is the Coach.

The news was confirmed by Katanec in a Press conference ahead of a Euro 2016 qualifier against England and friendly with Colombia.

Cavani leads Uruguay to victory

Slovenia appoint Sampdoria legend

Former Sampdoria midfielder Srecko Katanec has been named as the national boss of Slovenia for the second time.

The 49-year-old, who spent five years at Doria before retiring in 1994, replaces Slavisa Stojanovic after he resigned.

Florence hosts Italy-Slovenia

Italy's Euro 2012 qualifier against Slovenia will be held at the Stadio Artemio Franchi in Florence.

The Federation released a statement confirming the venue for the crunch match on September 6.

Kek: Slovenia have an advantage

Slovenia boss Matjaz Kek believes his side will have an advantage when they meet Italy tonight because his players know Serie A very well.

Italy can take a big step towards qualifying for Euro 2012 with a win in Ljubljana, but past results suggest it won't be easy for Cesare Prandelli.

"People who think Italy are no longer a super power in football are wrong," said Kek. "Many Slovenes are convinced that it will be an easy game. That's a mistake.

Zahovic: 'Slovenia will win easily!'

Slovenia legend Zlatko Zahovic has been bruising in his assessment of the Italy squad. “You've only got two or three good players.”

The two sides go head-to-head in the Euro 2012 qualifier on Friday evening and the Gazzetta dello Sport asked Zahovic for his predictions.

“We'll win easily on Friday, 2-0. More than that, I'll say Slovenia will have 70 per cent possession. Am I exaggerating? No,” said the ex-hitman.
