Juventus approach for Dzeko

Sportitalia claim Juventus have started negotiations with Roma for Edin Dzeko as an alternative to Arkadiusz Milik and Alvaro Morata.

New coach Andrea Pirlo seemingly wants a strong and hard-working centre-forward who can hold up the ball for his teammates as well as score goals.

Milik has long been linked, including when Maurizio Sarri was at the helm, but Napoli want €50m for the Poland international.

Pirlo’s former teammate Morata is another option, currently struggling for playing time with Atletico Madrid.

Pirlo's Juventus target Tonali

With Andrea Pirlo as the new coach, the Juventus transfer strategy shifts from Jorginho to battling Inter for Brescia talent Sandro Tonali.

Pirlo was the surprise appointment to replace fired Maurizio Sarri on Saturday, under 24 hours after their Champions League elimination to Lyon, with director Fabio Paratici confirming the decision had been made regardless of their European result.

This inevitably transforms the transfer strategy for the Bianconeri, which means negotiations with Chelsea for Jorginho are abandoned.

Napoli President Aurelio De Laurentiis warns ‘there will be no discounts’ for Arkadiusz Milik and if he rejects a transfer, he’ll be left on the bench for a year.

The Poland international is set to leave this summer after failing to negotiate a new contract, considering his current deal expires in June 2021.

“Milik has always been on the market,” De Laurentiis told Sky Sport Italia.

Napoli have reportedly asked for Federico Bernardeschi in return for Juventus target Arek Milik, but the former Fiorentina winger doesn’t seem keen on the idea.

Osimhen can light up Napoli

With Victor Osimhen set to become Napoli’s most expensive signing ever, Vilizar Yakimov explains why the Partenopei were so keen to bring in the 21-year-old Nigerian striker.

It might sound strange, but 2020 just keeps getting better and better for Napoli from a footballing point of view.

The Partenopei were a complete mess back in December when the infamous row between the players and the club resulted in Carlo Ancelotti’s sacking. However, Gennaro Gattuso has been doing wonders ever since, winning the Coppa Italia and building a solid foundation for next season.

Milik out against Parma

The Disciplinary Commission has announced that Napoli must cope without suspended Arkadiusz Milik against Parma on Wednesday.

The Partenopei forward replaced Dries Mertens in the 31st minute against Udinese on Sunday but was booked after only six minutes on the pitch.

The yellow card means he has received a one-match ban and Gennaro Gattuso must hope to have Mertens back against the Gialloblu.

Elsewhere the Giudice Sportivo handed out one-match suspensions to Torino midfielder Sasa Lukic for his fifth booking.
