Transfer market disturbs Sassuolo

Sassuolo coach Roberto De Zerbi admitted it was difficult to prepare for the first match in Serie A and felt the Neroverdi ‘didn’t take advantage of the opportunities’ in the 1-1 draw with Cagliari.

De Zerbi’s men hosted Cagliari on Sunday and despite saying it was a tough match, the coach felt Sassuolo had enough chances to win the match.

De Zerbi: 'Sassuolo must deserve expectations'

Roberto De Zerbi urges Sassuolo to ‘prove we deserve those raised expectations’ by starting the campaign strong against Cagliari.

De Zerbi wants to 'limit the changes' at Sassuolo

Sassuolo coach Roberto De Zerbi hopes to make as few changes as possible in the squad, to ‘arrive ready and tested’ for the first match against Cagliari.

The Neroverdi, who finished eight in Serie A 2019-20, host Cagliari in the first match of 2020-21 and coach De Zerbi said he can’t evaluate the calendar until he knows how his squad have developed during the transfer market.

Carnevali: 'De Zerbi helps the youngsters'

De Zerbi: 'I could stay for 10 years'

Sassuolo coach Roberto De Zerbi has claimed he has ‘no need to go anywhere’ and could stay with the Neroverdi ‘for 10 years’.

De Zerbi was rumoured to be looking for a top job in Italy but eventually signed a new one-year deal at the Mapei Stadium in June.

His previous contract expired after the 2019-20 campaign and Sassuolo’s impressive form this season had linked the coach with a move away from Emilia-Romagna.

De Zerbi: 'VAR improved football'

Roberto De Zerbi wants Sassuolo to play with ‘more belief’ after their 2-0 defeat to Napoli but insists VAR has ‘improved football’, despite four disallowed goals.

VAR was instrumental at the San Paolo last night as it ultimately denied Sassuolo victory, but De Zerbi refused to be drawn into any controversy.

De Zerbi: 'Gattuso revitalised Napoli'

Sassuolo coach Roberto De Zerbi has praised Gennaro Gattuso for ‘revitalising’ Napoli ahead of their clash at the San Paolo tomorrow. ‘He did an extraordinary job’.
