De Zerbi: 'Players are prepared to sacrifice'

Roberto De Zerbi has revealed he wants the campaign to resume, adding that he ‘enjoys life’ at Sassuolo and claimed the ‘players are prepared to sacrifice’.

The Neroverdi sit 11th in Serie A during the forced break and the coach has claimed they are prepared to continue to fight for a place in the top half of the League.

De Zerbi: 'Sassuolo can be new Atalanta'

Roberto De Zerbi believes Sassuolo “have everything it takes” to follow the Atalanta model and build a successful European club.

The Bergamo club reached the Champions League quarter-finals in their first ever entry, having eliminated Valencia 8-4 on aggregate, and are on track to finish in the Serie A top four again.

“Atalanta performed a masterpiece by improving their squad and their mentality. The credit goes to Gian Piero Gasperini,” De Zerbi told Sky Sport Italia.

Di Francesco studies English: 'I had offers from PL'

Eusebio Di Francesco expected a very different season but reveals that he currently ‘studies English’ and remains ‘open to any kind of new experience’.

After helping establish Sassuolo in Serie A, the currently unemployed coach took charge of Roma in in 2017-18 but was replaced by Claudio Ranieri in March 2019 after struggling to build on a semi-final in the Champions League from his first year at the Olimpico.

De Zerbi would 'consider big offer'

Sassuolo coach Roberto De Zerbi has admitted that he would “consider an offer” from a big club but insisted that he enjoys life at the MAPEI Stadium.

The Neroverdi are currently 11th in Serie A and won three of their last four games in the League before the suspension of games.

De Zerbi has been praised for the job he has done at Sassuolo, but the 40-year-old from Brescia has yet to extend his current deal expiring this summer and revealed that he would evaluate his options if a bigger side made an offer.

Caputo: 'If I get to 20 goals..."

Francesco Caputo has revealed what drives him to score 20 goals for Sassuolo this campaign and said it would be “a dream” to reunite with Antonio Conte.

Ciccio has impressed after his arrival from Empoli last summer, as the Neroverdi forward is currently boasting a record of 11 goals in 22 Serie A games this term.

After scoring 42 goals in 79 league games at Empoli the last two seasons, he has targeted 20 goals in his first season at the MAPEI Stadium.

Boga: 'De Zerbi improved me'

Jeremie Boga feels Sassuolo deserved their victory away to SPAL and credited coach Roberto De Zerbi with his current form. “I have improved so much.”

The winger is on sparkling form and was decisive at the Stadio Mazza today, earning a penalty and nodding in the winner.

“It was another great performance from the start and I think we deserved this result for the way we played over the full 90 minutes,” Boga told DAZN.

De Zerbi: 'Always ferocious Sassuolo'

Roberto De Zerbi wants Sassuolo to always play with the “ferocity” shown against Roma and admits he has a similar style to Paulo Fonseca.

The Neroverdi put on a masterclass in the opening 30 minutes to go 3-0 up, then just as Edin Dzeko and a Jordan Veretout penalty put Roma back in it, Jeremie Boga thumped a rocket into the far top corner for 4-2.

“It all worked for us tonight, but the intention is to always play this style of football,” the coach told DAZN.
