Toljan: 'De Zerbi like Nagelmann'

Jeremy Toljan insists he joined Sassuolo because “Roberto De Zerbi has a very interesting style of football” reminiscent of Julian Nagelsmann.

The right-back completed his loan move from Borussia Dortmund for €2.5m, with option to buy for another €4.5m next summer.

“It is a real pleasure for me to be here, as Sassuolo are a great club for any player. The team plays some beautiful football and I am very happy to experience Serie A,” said the German who turns 25 next month.

Fonseca and Roma await Shakhtar

Roma seem to have chosen Paulo Fonseca as their new Coach after a meeting with his representatives, but it depends on Shakhtar Donetsk.

According to several sources, including Sky Sport Italia and La Gazzetta dello Sport, today’s encounter in Madrid went well and they worked out the basics of a three-year contract worth €2.5m per season.

However, it all depends on whether Shakhtar Donetsk are prepared to release their tactician for free or demand the €5m release clause in his contract.

Shakhtar Donetsk are open to releasing Fonseca for free after three years together, so directors Gianluca Petrachi and Fienga flew out to Lisbon for discussions with the Portuguese boss.

The latest rumour from Tuttomercatoweb is that Fonsenca isn’t entirely convinced by the project presented to him.
