Bjarnason: 'Happy to be at Brescia'

Iceland international Birkir Bjarnason explained his transfer to Brescia and how he has “grown so much since I last played in Italy.”

This was a return to Serie A for the 31-year-old, who already wore the Pescara and Sampdoria jerseys in 2012-15.

“The talks only started a few days ago and I am very happy to be back in Italy with Brescia,” said Bjarnason in his press conference.

Italy Under-21 boss Paolo Nicolato admits that while Sandro Tonali’s senior promotion “gives us a lot of pleasure, it also gives us some problems.”

Tonali back with Italy U21s

Patrick Cutrone, Moise Kean and Sandro Tonali are the biggest names to be given call-ups to the latest Italy Under-21 squad.

Among the other notable inclusions are Inter defender Alessandro Bastoni, Cagliari left-back Luca Pellegrini and Genoa striker Andrea Pinamonti.
