Corini: 'Brecia to get a result'

Eugenio Corini expects a “healthy” Milan when Brescia could give Birkir Bjarnason his first start as they “try to get a result” on Friday.

The Icelandic midfielder came on after the break during the 2-2 draw with Cagliari and could be in line for his first game in the starting XI.

Corini admitted that it might be too early for new-boy Simon Skrabb, as he expects an “aggressive” Milan.

Iceland international Birkir Bjarnason explained his transfer to Brescia and how he has “grown so much since I last played in Italy.”

This was a return to Serie A for the 31-year-old, who already wore the Pescara and Sampdoria jerseys in 2012-15.

“The talks only started a few days ago and I am very happy to be back in Italy with Brescia,” said Bjarnason in his press conference.

Dream debut for Iceland

Former Pescara and Sampdoria man Birkir Bjarnason's equaliser gave Iceland an unlikely point against Portugal.

Iceland went into the match knowing a victory would see them become the smallest nation ever to win a European Championship match, the previous record having been set by Wales on Saturday.

Portugal’s talisman Cristiano Ronaldo was making his 127th appearance, equalling Luis Figo’s record.
