Zhang: ‘Icardi and Spalletti stay’

Steven Zhang, the son of Inter owner Jindong Zhang, says Luciano Spalletti staying is “not even a question” and “it’s the same” for Mauro Icardi.

The Nerazzurri dramatically secured Champions League qualification on the final day of the Serie A season, winning 3-2 at Lazio to finish above the Biancocelesti thanks to their head-to-head record.

“First of all, I thank the fans, the players and the coaching staff, who gave everything they could,” Zhang Jr told Corriere dello Sport.

Zhang: ‘Inter not for sale’

Steven Zhang, son of Inter owner Jindong Zhang, reiterates that Suning Group have no desire to sell the club.

It was claimed on Wednesday that the Chinese conglomerate was considering selling the Nerazzurri, having received an offer of €600m.

Suning swiftly denied that in a statement, and now the owner’s son has had his say.

“I guess some people just don’t understand whatever confusion they make,” Zhang wrote on his Instagram page.

Spalletti: 'Inter must aim for more'

Luciano Spalletti is “not happy” with Inter’s season so far and “must aim for more,” while comparing their directors to Bono and Bruce Springsteen.

The Nerazzurri reached the midway stage of the campaign in third place after 12 wins, five draws and only two defeats, but went out of the Coppa Italia Quarter-Final against Milan.

“If I think that I earned as many points as I did last season (at Roma), then I think that I must aim for more, so I am not happy with my work,” the Coach told Mediaset Premium.

Zhang: ‘2018 is Inter’s year’

Steven Zhang says 2018 could be Inter’s year, but reiterates that “the objective is the Champions League”.

The Nerazzurri have started the season well under Luciano Spalletti, and are just two points off the top of Serie A having suffered their first defeat of the season on Saturday.

“We’ll continue to fight,” Zhang, son of major shareholder Jindong Zhang, said at the club’s Christmas party.

Fortune China celebrates Inter

Fortune China magazine have dedicated their front cover to the Suning Group’s purchase of Inter.

The Nerazzurri are currently top of the Serie A table under new Coach Luciano Spalletti and the only side still unbeaten in Italy this season.

“This year, Fortune mag dedicated their end of year edition to show the true passion of the world,” wrote Inter director Steven Zhang on Instagram.

He also published a copy of the front cover, which is all in the club’s black and blue colours.

Zhang Jr: ‘Inter will strengthen’

Inter announce board shake-up

Inter have announced a shake-up of their management structure, including the appointment of a Nerazzurri-supporting new CEO.

A statement on Inter’s official website confirms Alessandro Antonello has been promoted from Chief Operating Officer to Chief Executive Officer.

He arrived from Puma Italia in 2015, initially as the club’s Chief Financial Officer.

“I am very proud and honoured to have been appointed as Chief Executive Officer of Inter and I thank the Board for their support,” said Antonello.

Revealed: Inter’s transfer meeting

It is claimed Inter boss Luciano Spalletti has demanded 4-5 new players, with one of them being Bayern Munich midfielder Arturo Vidal.

Gazzetta dello Sport reports Spalletti met Suning Group representative Steven Zhang, technical coordinator Walter Sabatini, sporting director Piero Ausilio, administrator Giovanni Gardini in Nanjing during the early hours of Sunday evening.

The newspaper explains it was there when the Coach “reiterated the need for 4-5 signings and a squad of 18-20 players capable of starting”.
