Torino after Sunderland midfielder?

Torino are reportedly working on a deal to bring in Sunderland’s record signing Didier Ndong.

According to Gianluca Di Marzio’s website, Torino have turned to Ndong to strengthen their midfield and are in talks with Sunderland over a payment plan.

The Gabon international became the Black Cats’ most expensive arrival when they paid Lorient €15m two years ago.

However, he endured back-to-back relegations with the English side and did not make any first-team appearances during a loan spell with Watford last season.

Alvarez linked with Argentina, Mexico

Sampdoria’s Ricky Alvarez is being linked with a January transfer to Argentine and Mexican clubs.

The 29-year-old has been with the Blucerchiati since 2016 but has made only nine appearances in all competitions so far this season – claiming one goal and one assist.

As such, Il Secolo XIX claims that his future is looking increasingly likely to lie away from Marassi.

According to the Italian daily, Samp are happy to allow the player to leave, with a host of Latin American clubs said to be interested in securing his services.

Torino knocked back for Borini

Torino were reportedly interested in Fabio Borini, but Milan told them in no uncertain terms that a deal is impossible.

The forward is on loan with the Rossoneri from Sunderland, and they have an obligation to buy him at the end of the season.

According to La Stampa, the Granata made an enquiry about the former Roma man, with a view to signing him in January.

That would have involved the Diavolo buying Borini six months early, before then selling or loaning him to Toro.

Borini bouncing back

While Milan splashed out on star names this summer, Fabio Borini has been the surprise standout performer, writes Richard Hall.

Whilst the Rossoneri were spending in abundance this summer, Fabio Borini arrived with few fans and arguably fewer hopes. His loan move from Sunderland surprised many and would have seen more questions asked, had the likes of Andre Silva and Leonardo Bonucci not been catching the eye of the expectant fan base.

His new club promised much, but as yet have not delivered on expectations, as their players try desperately to gel as a cohesive unit. Despite all the odds however, Borini has been one component that has impressed in his time so far.
